HP Compaq WF1907 Monitor - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
How can I open the HP w1907 LCD Monitor
I have just opened an HP W1907. It does not open from the back like Dell!!! The black plastic bezel with the HP logo on the front must be removed.I pried mine lose and broke most of the plastic nibs that hold it in place. From examining the bezel, it appears the a thin hook should be slipped in between it and the light gray plastic then pry up the back of the black bezel. The nibs on the black plastic bezel are facing downward and you must somehow lift them up and over the matching locks on gray piece. If you pry on the black back piece, as in Dell, you will break off four post the have screws put in from the front.
I hope this helps.

Why does its say no HVI Connection
DVI is a Digital Video Input/Interface. I think what happened is you have changed your inputs on your monitor but that is only if your monitor has several different types of inputs. Check for that and if so then switch your input on your monitor.

Hp w-1907 monitor goes black
This is a well known issue and I have posted a resolution in another area on this site if you try a related search. It involves some thermal paste replacement. However, soon after the post it bit me in the behind and I had a failure. The actual issue is the "trigger" that powers the inverters for the CCFL bulbs gets lost and the circuit turns the bulbs off. If you look close you will see the image is still there but there is no backlight to allow you to see it. There are some Chinese sources that sell the power / inverter board for about $40.00 USD shipping included. I found them via this seller:

The pen input is not available on the HP W1907 monitor. I have three of them and Win 7 tells me the same thing but there is no firmware in this monitor that supports pen input. There are other models that HP puts out that do and the driver is the same so the option appears in Win 7 by default. Sorry to give bad news. (trust me, I was excited at first followed by the Aw ****!)
My monitor suddenly went black
Hello
Sounds as your video device may be bad, either a onboard chip or a video card.Try using another monitor if you have one or if you can borrow one,if another works then its your monitor. If not then its your video device.
Check your monitor cable first with a used or new one.

You may have power supply or backlights inverter problem, or worst case will be the lamps.
If you are going to DIY and already try the monitor with another PC, and have proper tools and know safety precaution then please read on:
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply (they should be replaced in a set), blown fuses; poor solder joints, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed HP monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/albums/yy352/budm/
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.
