Motorola FV500 2-Way Radio Questions & Answers
My motorola fv500 reach only
You may have
1) A low or bad battery.
2) Be holding the radio at an angle and reducing your range. Hold the antenna straight up, perpendicular to the ground, to achieve the best range. Height and placement of the antenna determines range.
3) Or you may be trying to talk in-or-out of a building, which would significantly reduce your range. Obstacles between you and the other radio, as well as the body fluid of a person wearing their radio low on their hip can significantly reduce range.
Best regards.
I have a Motorola FV500 Walkie Talkie and it is
Sorry but there is no particular place where you can get these parts. although a trial at amazon.com and ebay could yield some results but ultimately just try checking for motorola walkie talkie forums and post your needs there. Most likely you will get your needs satisfied there.
Hope this solution has been helpful?

Your FV500 radio has 11 GMRS/FRS 12.5k frequencies pre-programmed into the radio, which cannot be changed. Here is a link to the user guide
http://www.giantintl.com/RadioPDFs/manuals/fv500.pdf
You will be limited to the 11 frequencies shown in the upper right of the guide. You could however, reprogram your PRO and EP radios to match the FV500. Note: These frequencies are limited to 1 watt or less.
Motorola FV500 - lots and lots of noise on line..
Hello hanshez,
It's also possible that the noise is being caused by local interence. You could try using a different channel. Disable your interference eliminator function and try listening to the various channels to find a quiet one. The interference codes don't actually eliminate interference they just keep you from hearing activity on the channel that can still interfere with your communications.
As long as there isn't other activity on the channel your radios should be able to communcate. Are the radios able to communicate with each other when you are in the same room? Does the problem occur when your son gets further away? Or when he is outside and you are inside? If so, the issue may be one of range.
These kinds of two-way radios are very good for communiations when the users are within line-of-sight of each other. However communications can become blocked by tall trees and buildings, if one user is inside a building or automobile, etc. The 8-mile range that Motorola lists is really only practical when one user has some altitude over the other and clear line-of-sight, such as being on top of a tall hill outdoors with no nearby buildings. For typical communications over relatively flat ground with no obstructions, I would expect a more typical range of less then one mile. Obstructions can lower this effective communications range even more.
Hope this helps.

Motorola FV500 2 way radio can send/cant receive
Do you hear the Beeps on the speaker?
Check for the QT and the code squelch are the same in both radios, try to set code squelch in "0".
Make sure that the radio is not receiving or the other one is not transmiting, with two radios will see the same.
I need help to dismantle a motorola radius sp10 2 way radio
Remove the battery, slip a small screw driver into the slot at the bottom of the radio between the outer housing and the battery tray, gently pry up. If your radio has a pair of battery contacts on the exterior they will come up with the tray. Be gentle, and do not disturb the Mylar ribbon that runs down the back of the tray. Once the tray is removed, using a frame removal tool (shaped like a squared letter U) you slip the tool in the channels on either side of the radio where you removed the battery tray. Then slide the tool upward until it meets the two plastic ears. The tool will slip under the ears and using your tool you can push the component board out the top of the housing. If your radio has an 8-dip-switch private line board, you may want to watch you do not damage or dislodge it in the process.
Can the Motorola factory replace the battery in the H730 headset?
It is possible to have the battery in your Motorola H730 headset replaced, but it would likely need to be done by a third-party repair service as the battery is not typically user-replaceable.
Motorola does not offer an official repair service for the H730 headset, so you may need to find a third-party repair service that specializes in repairing Bluetooth headsets. Be aware that third-party repairs may void any remaining warranty on the device.
You can also consider purchasing a new headset if you prefer not to have it repaired.
I have two older Motorola Walkies Talkabout FR60 wont send or receive and a T5820 with the rubber broken off the antenna is is cost feasible to fix or not
I believe for the FR60 walkie-talkies, if they are not sending or receiving, the issue could be related to the antenna, battery, or internal components. You can try replacing the batteries and/or antennas to see if that resolves the issue.
As for the T5820 walkie-talkie, if the rubber on the antenna is broken, it's likely that the antenna itself is also damaged. In this case, you can try replacing the antenna with a new one. Antennas are typically available for purchase online or at electronics stores.
In terms of cost, repairing older walkie-talkies like these may not always be cost-effective. If the repairs are extensive or require replacement of major components, it may be more practical to purchase new walkie-talkies instead.

Motorola sliver headset won't power on even when the green lights are solid
There are a few things you can try to troubleshoot this issue with your Motorola Silver headset not powering on:
- Make sure that the headset is fully charged by connecting it to the charger for at least 30 minutes.
- Check the battery contacts in the headset and charger to ensure that they are clean and free of debris.
- Try resetting the headset by holding down the power button for 15 seconds.
- Try a different charger or charging cable to see if that resolves the issue.
- Make sure that the headset is not in pairing mode.
- Check the headset manual for any information regarding troubleshoot, or if there are any specific instructions for turning on the headset.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, it may be a problem with the headset itself and you may need to contact Motorola for further assistance.

Can you use the Motorola XPR 4550 as a police scanner?
The Motorola XPR 4550 is a two-way radio, not a scanner. Scanners are devices that can listen to a wide range of frequencies, whereas two-way radios are designed for communication between a limited number of specific devices on specific frequencies. However, you can use a scanner to listen to the frequency that the Motorola XPR 4550 is transmitting on.
Motorola XTL5000. encoding is working but decoding is not. If you encode a different tone on another radio it still hears it.
