You need to do some more checks to narrow down the fault!
shine a flashlight into the screen when TV on to see if there is a faint picture! If there is a picture the backlights not working or the T-con board is faulty!
if no picture then main board is faulty!

Had the same problem with my LG Blu Ray player. I don't have the model number handy, but I did download the latest update. The movie nor the special features disc worked. Other Blu Rays I have worked fine. This happened with two copies of the Hunger Games Blu Ray. I returned the original to Target and exchanged for the exact same, still had same problems. I will look for the exact model number later tonight. If anyone has any thoughts, they would be welcome. I'd hate to think my LG Blu Ray player with surround sound that has worked so well for the past 3 years is suddenly out of date with new blu rays. Just seems a bit odd.

Hi. We have the Pvr 2 U and none of the above worked. What we eventually figured out was to hold the TV/audio button on booting for about a minute. The TV screen will go black, continue holding the TV/audio button until the the dstv logo comes up. Now use the remote and click menu. Go to advanced options and network settings and wait for it to rescan the channels. Hope this helps

Open the menu and go to features then subtitle.
Switch off analogue subtitle.
Scroll to 1st subtitle and then scroll through the languages until "off" comes up.
Repeat for 2nd subtitle.

Make sure the AC power cord is securely connected to a working wall outlet. If plugged into a power strip or surge protector, unplug the power cord and plug it directly into the wall outlet. If the TV turns on, the issue is with the power strip or surge protector

stephenbirdwell826 , First try unplugging TV for 20 min's and press and hold power button on TV for 10 sec's to reset and plug TV in and try. If no go remove the back from TV and remove plugs/ cables reseat them to make sure all have good connection and try TV again. At any time if you start getting light blink codes, use the 2nd link to diagnose the fault.
Could be possible power supply board issue, remove the back off of TV and look for any evidence of a power surge, bulged capacitor, hot/burn marks, etc., replace parts on the board or replace board found with defective parts. Check out the 1st link below for more info. on diagnosing a TV with this type of issue. If not comfortable working on the TV, have a good local TV repairman have a look, diagnose and estimate repair.
