There are 5 basic, yet solvable reasons for what you described. Please pay particular attention to numbers 1 & 2..
1. The humidity extraction level is set to HIGH. Lower it to 32-35%.
2. Air intake filter is dirty or clogged. Turn unit OFF, & Unplug the
Unit, before removing to inspect & clean it, if necessary. If washed,
allow filter to completely dry before reinstalling. DO NOT operate
the unit without the filter.
3. Obstructed air flow. Maintain a minimum of 12 to 18" of clear air
space around the entire unit.
4. Cooling coils are dirty and need to be cleaned. Use warm water & dish washing liquid to
clean the coils. Rinse and wipe dry. Apply a light coating of WD40 to the coils.
5. Ambient air temperature at floor level is between 40 - 60 degrees.
dehumidifiers do not work well between those temperatures
(Unless, you have a Low Temp Unit). This applies mainly to
where the air
temperature at floor level is colder than at shoulder level
in basement applications. Raising the unit up off the floor,
onto a sturdy table, counter top, etc, that can handle the weight
of the unit, plus a full tank of water, will usually resolve this
problem.
If
none of the above solves the problem, it may be a case of the
compressor needs to be recharged with refrigerant gas or that the humidity condenser sensor has failed. These things usually occur in units that are
5 years old or older. It's rare in a unit younger than that. But, it
can happen.

Just purchased Model LD651EBL -
Make sure the bucket is installed properly. It you are CERTAIN it is installed properly and you still get no power to the unit (you said you definitely have power at the wall outlet) return it to the store and either get it demo'd or replaced. Definitely rule out the wall outlet by testig with a light or a radio before you load the unit into the car.
Any more than what I have suggested may void any warranty you may be entitled to. Don"t wait.
Thank you for your question @ FixYa.com
Dehumidifier has worked fine but just this morning
Charlie, generally, two things can cause this: An improperly installed bucket and/or the float valve in the top of the bucket is stuck in the UP position.
Remove the bucket and check for the float valve, if your unit is so equipped. Jiggle the arm of the float valve to make sure it's in the down position. When reinstalling the bucket, be sure that the bucket fits "squarely" from top to bottom into it's holder. It should not tilt down at the bottom at all. It mist make contact with the bucket safety removal switch, located on the rear wall of the bucket holder.
Hope this helps you troubleshoot and solve the problem. Thanks for choosing FixYa.

I have an lg dehumidifier
booklover, if the the bucket is not properly installed, the unit will not turn ON. If you remove the bucket and look at the left top corner it, you will see a float device arm. It that's stuck in the UP position, jiggle the handle, so it will return to the DOWN position. In addition, that handle must make contact with the bucket removal safety switch, if not the bucket is improperly installed and the unit will not start.
Since you are using this unit in a basement, I highly recommend that you raise the unit up off the floor onto a sturdy table, counter top, etc. that can handle the weight if the unit, plus a full bucket of water. As the air temperature at floor level is colder than at chest level. The coils on your model will start to freeze at 60 degrees F and affect it efficiency, Because it is not a Low Temperature model designed for basement applications.
In addition to the dehumidifier, you would be wise to install a sump pump, if your basement floods as bad as you made it sound. Combining a sump pump with a dehumidifier will guarantee a dry basement, all the time.
Hope this helped you to troubleshoot and solve the problem.
Not running. Blinking red light for bucket full.
Leo, have you removed and emptied the buck and reinstalled it? If not, that's the first thing you need to do. If you have already done that, remove the bucket and if it's equipped with a float valve in the top of the bucket, make sure the float is not stuck in the UP position. If it is, jiggle the arm of the float, so that it will return to the DOWN position.
If not equipped with a float valve, when you reinstall the bucket, be sure that it fits "squarely" from top to button into the holder.
NOTE: Before attempting any of the above, turn the unit OFF and unplug it it.
Hope this helps you troubleshoot and solve the problem.

It is possible that the blades are loose and might need to be tightened specially if the sound seems to increase day by day. If so do not delay as this might come loose and damage the set if not fixed immediately.

You would need to connect a drain hose, no longer than 5 feet to the hose connection port on the dehumidifier. A regular garden hose will work. But, again, it can''t be longer than 5 feet. Since you didn't mention which model you have, I can't tell you exactly, where the hose connection is on your unit. Most are on the back of the unit, near floor level,
