Am using Win XP When I turn the pc on with
OK! Lets troubleshoot this together.
First thing we want to do is verify that your keyboard & mouse and plugged into the correct places and are powered up and able to work.
Turn your computer on and look at your keyboard and tell me if any lights are on to show that it has power and is operational.
Watch the keyboard lights until the computer gets to the login page and tell me if the lights come on and stay on? Or do the lights turn on for a moment and then turn off again?
If you do not see any lights, please clarify if there are NO LIGHTS on your style of keyboard or if there are lights but they are not lighting up.
If your keyboard has lights and they are not lighting up at all, then turn off the computer and unplug the mouse and keyboard and swap them around. Then turn the computer on again and tell me if the lights come on and the mouse and keyboard become operational.
Once we verify this we can continue to the next step of troubleshooting. Please report what you find and I will help you solve this.
When I boot up with windows recovery cd in drive
your keyboard is not connected properly, because boot should response when you press any key, check the connections of keyboard or replace with correct one.
as far the massage concern, it shows the windows gone corrupt re-installation is recommended.
Computer is on when plugged in and will not turn
First of all you have a couple of issues..
The power button on those old systems don't allow for shutoff by power button when there is an issue, odd i know but I just had one in this week...
As for registering it sounds as if the system just went through a reinstall atleast more then 30 days ago.
Try starting the system with the disc in the drive, when the system starts up try clicking ESC button or F12.
that should allow you the chance to click start from disc and restart all over again.
I NEED SOUND DRIVES
Hope this helps.

SYSEEM START VERY SLOW
it may be the problem of software overloading.so you need to remove some unwanted programs at startup.to do that,go to 'run' in the start menu and type 'msconfig' then hit enter.then you will see a dialogue box.select 'startup' at the right corner and you will be able to see some ticks in boxes.remove the ticks from the programmes that you do not want to run at startup.then restart the computer.
I have 2 ibm netvista
ya go do that but olny add the same ram to each of them or take the 256 to the other tower
Check media no operating system found
This means that your pc didn't found operating system in the drives that tried to boot from. To make it simpler:
1. Your hard disk isn't accesible by the system (solution: check the bios settings)
2. You haven't installed (or it's disconnected) a hard disk (solution: install one or check the connections)
3. You're trying to boot with a non bootable cd (solution: use a bootable one)
4. Your cd/dvd rom is not accessed by the system (solution: check the bios settings)
There are some more minnor cases but I don't have enough details for your case and I don't want to make you in panic.
In case of a problem or clarification, don't hesitate to post me a reply before rejecting my answer.

PC with windows xp professional , on booting ,
Reboot your PC and immediately start tapping the F8 key, then choose to start in safe mode. Now click the start button, then click run. Type MSCONFIG and choose startup programs and disable all startup programs and see if it boots ok. If it does you can retype msconfig and one at a time re-enable your startup programs until you find the one that makes your PC hang and reboot, Keep that one turned off after you find it, and re-enable the rest of your startup items.
