Try this press the button for ground coffee then when it lights up press the coffee brew button, if water flows normally then the grind on the grinder needs to be adjusted coarser, if no water then the screen on the brew unit is blocked.

Problem: No water flow; Solution: Unclog a small orifice in the flow meter

My 5 year-old Syncrony Logic stopped working for the first time today. The water would not flow, not through the steamer, not through the brew group. I had previously thoroughly cleaned the brew group screens, steamer wand, water dispenser filter, etc. Still no water flow. I could hear the pump working but no flow.

I only use distilled water in the unit, so I've never had a scale problem (distilled water has no minerals, thus nothing to create scale). After downloading a parts schematic from here, I dug into the case. By the way, I suggest you don't proceed unless you have at least some mechanical ability and are not afraid to break something in the process. Be sure to unplug from the wall first, unless you really like electricity A LOT.

After removing the drip tray, grinds bin, water tub, and coffee hopper, I removed the gray top. To do this: from the top remove 2 screws under the water tub, 2 screw under the coffee hopper. And from below the control panel: 4 screws from the under-side along the front and behind the brew group cover. Once the screws are out lift the cover at the back and pivot off the front.

2 things are attached to this cover: the power switch and water hose. The power switch easily slides off the top cover. The water hose runs from the water dispenser fitting and into a little white gizmo with another hose running out of it and into the pump. The little gizmo is a flow meter that ensures water is flowing. Remove the hose from the tank and flow meter in order to clean it.

The top of this flow meter easily comes off by slightly twisting the top counter-clockwise about 10 degrees, lining up 3 tabs with slots and lifting it off. Its a little snug coming off due to an o-ring seal. You'll see the little turbine wheel inside. In the top is the input and output ports in the flow meter turbine chamber.

The input opening into the flow meter turbine is TINY. It was clogged with a bit of gooey fluff. I poked it out with a small pipe-cleaner, then made sure the hose from the tank was clean, and the opening into the turbine was gunk-free.

After I put it all back together it ran like a champ again. I love this espresso maker. First problem in 5 years of flawless operation.

Grind adjustment control

Your best bet may to take it apart and see if there is a missing retaining ring or clip that may have fallen off. The knobs are usually held in with some type of retaining clip, nut, or ring. If you turn it too far, it could cause that piece to come off. You can try and screw it in clock-wise, but if it doesn't grip or have any control, then you will likely have to dismanlte it to find the missing piece and re-install

I have thoroughly cleaned it and it still pours

It seems that coffee water curcuit is full or scale or water dirt that is already very hard or dry that the normal descaling procedure can not remove and clean it. In this way you must desasemble the machine in order to descale and clean it properly with visual inspection.
I will also advice before you proceed with desasemble to try with the descaling procedure for three days repeating it. If you are lucky you can manage to stuck the machine if not the desasemble it.

I removed the central unit

look at where the central unit fits. You'll notice it is supposed to push down on a safety switch. Use a piece of tape and press the switch down then tape it into place.

From your description of the problem ,, this is the only thing i can think off that could have gone wrong.

Gaggia Syncrony logic loses water pressure.

Yes the machine should not be left on for that long, it only takes a few minutes to heat up. It does not have an auto refill if the boiler is low on water.
If it heats up the water in the boiler for over an hour, it is safe to assume, that the water might at some point turn to steam, when you use it for the first time, it flushes out all the steam, and fills the boiler with water.

HI
That is a stripped thumbscrew. You need a new one. When it starts to brew, the stripped thumbscrew pushes up and allows the coffee to fill the head and dredge drawer.
The plastic rod that has 2 small hooks on the end and has ribs around the opposite end is your thumbscrew. It holds the filter screen in place. There is suppose to be a small round nut that is molded into the position between the legs with the hooks. If you use the key to tighten the thumbscrew you will pull the nut out and then the thumbscrew will pop out of the brew head. Check the stem of the filter screen. If you have an item that is about 3/8 of an inch long and has a grove in the middle and small bumps on it, that’s the nut. You need a new thumbscrew. Remove the old nut on the stem before putting it in the new thumbscrew. Remember it’s a thumbscrew, so it only needs to be finger tight. The key is for removing only.

I have a krups xp2070 coffee/expresso maker just stopped working

Most likely your power module failed. Mine went bad after 18 months of operation. You can order a replacement power module and control module from a Krups service center or from SmallApplicance.com. The replacement is not easy since you have to disconnect all the electrical connections. The module is about $60. I don't know how much the service center will charge to replace it.

The steam wand will only dispense water

Replace the steam boiler, and or check the thermostats and the element on the steam boiler. If those are working fine then the CPU board has failed especially where the power leads to the steam, look for sign of damage on the board.

Machine was working fine this

There very well could be a jammed gear. Also, if the doors are not shut completley or there is a bad door switch or sensor, this will also cause the machine not to work
Another thing you may want to do is remove the screws and look inside to see if the fuse is good or not. You can test fuse, capacitors, and more with an ohmmeter to see if all componenets are getting power.

No steam pressure with little to no water/steam

Remove the steam wand and inside you will find a small teflon like tube at the top, throw that away and run water through the wand to make sure it is clear then re-assemble in machine and test.
