I have an Amama NAV5800AW
Hello,
The noise you are hearing is the main tub bearing. Water has been leaking past the seal and into the bearing causing it to rust. There is no lubrication on the bearing anymore and you are hearing the metal on metal grinding. You are looking at a costly repair of about $350. I hope this helps you out.

the motor/ trans / pump / belt / ect yes they are all fine the problem is the timer . the timer stopes the motor after the wash and starts it in the other dir to spin and drain . but this is not happing . so the timer is at fault . pt # 27001088 100.99 hope this helped mm feed back pls
Wahing machine won't do anything
when in some of your wash cycles, try wiggling the timer knob back and forth. sometimes if the timer is going bad the motor will come to life for a split second. if this is the case you need a new timer. if it is completely dead no matter what, you most likely have a bad motor but there is still a chance that there is a bad timer. the odds just increase that it is a bad motor.
