I would check with your manufacturer and see if a professional can diagnose the regulator and even the gas valve itself.

You may have problems with the gas valve, but check the wiresgoing to it first see anything came disconected

This means a loose/broken wire on the oven temp sensor or the oven temp. sensor itself is bad and should be replaced. To solve this issue test the oven temp. sensor, it should read between 1080-1120 ohms, if the rating is more then that and the door appears to be closing fine then it is the control board that is bad and should be replaced. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

The ignitor is probably weak. You have a good circuit because the oven control is trying to light burner. The gas valve is alo fine because it is allowing current to flow. The ignitor with age does not draw enough current to light off the stove.

When you put it into the self clean mode, the lock is engaging and dis-engaging? What is your model number please?

Tappan Ovens | Answered on Aug 07, 2011

If this is an electric oven, most likely the oven bake element has burnt out.
the model and serial number should be behind the bottom drawer,
most elements are held in with (2) 1/4 inch socket hex head screws.

Remember to unplug stove or shut off breaker before servicing.
The element can be slid out usually, then unplugged or remove
the back cover behind stove and unplug it from the wiring harness.
I hope this is useful

Yes... just grab hold of them and pull firmly away from the unit towards you...

Usually when the self cleaning cycle is interrupted then this issue happens. However, now I believe the door latch assembly has gone bad and should be replaced. You can try to close the door though. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.
