Remove the plaques and using an old tooth brush clean with mild soap and water.. Rinse thoroughly, towel dry and finish drying them with blow drier. The interior of the unit and it's filter should also be cleaned. Depending on what type filer it uses (Aluminum mesh or soft mesh plastic) they too and can be washed with mild soap and water, rinsed and thoroughly dried. Any other type filter material may need to be replaced. Clean the interior with canned compressed air with a straw nozzle and a dry paper towel.

Of course, before you do any of the above, unplug the unit.

Need to replace fan blade. doi just the other blade off or do i need a tool

You should be able to get the fan off w/ a small screwdriver & some needle nose pliers for the metal clamp that holds the fan onto the shaft. Look on Google for suppliers to get a new fan & clamp. It shouldn't be expensive.

Unit turns on, but none

The plug in the back may have come loose that connects the buttons & lights to the circuit board. Have you ever taken the machine out of the wood carcass? You will need to do so to re-connect the plug.

Where can I get schematics

You can't. That's called proprietary information. Any problems w/ this machine (and there were many of them) you sent it directly to Ecoquest to be fixed. They have since stopped making machine. I would recommend trading it in ($100 crredit) towards another machine. And w/ a three year warranty. How long have you owned this?

My Fan is somehow loose

Fan should not be rubbing up against anything. I don't think the fan is secured properly to the motor shaft. Tighten down the metal clip that holds the fan onto the shaft. Make sure it's not back too far.

Odors from a vehicle takes 2-14 hours on "high". Depends on the odors. Run the AC & heater fan for 20 minutes also when the car is full of ozone and have the unit aimed up on the floor toward the firewall on high. You should not stay in the car while doing this. Mild new odors can be neutralized in 20 minutes to 2 hours. Bigger and older problems take longer.

Check to make sure the screen is pushed down in the back to activate the failsafe button. Sometimes the button can get finicky. Take off the screen and push it down with something. See if it does anything, if not, check the fuse and the plate, if it cracks, it's blow the fuse later.

How do you clean the

Hi revgreta,

Kindly follow the instructions below on how you will clean your Ecoquest Breeze. Your air purifier should be cleaned once a month to keep it's maximum effectiveness.

1. First, make sure to unplug the air purifier from the electrical outlet.

2. Dampen a soft cloth with warm water and wipe down the outside of the air purifier. Do not soak the cloth or use chemical cleaning agents.

3. Remove the two screws from the back cover an pull it off of the air purifier. Remove the two screws holing the lint screen in place and lift the lint screen off of the machine.
4. Cleaning the rear lint screen - You can either vacuum the filter or you can wash in hot water. Allow to dry before reinstalling the lint screen. Do not use soap, it will damage the carbon material in the lint screen. If any dirt remains, wash the lint screen in hot water and lightly scrub the screen with a toothbrush.

5. Grip the purification plate in the middle of the machine and lift it out of the holder. Wipe down the plate with a mixture of ammonia and water and allow it to dry completely. When dry, reinsert the plate in the holder.
6. Grip the purification plate in the middle of the machine and lift it out of the holder. Wipe down the plate with a mixture of 1 part amonia and 1 part water solution for 10-20 minutes. Gently scrub the metal grid on the plate with a toothbrush and rinse with water. Clean the metal contacts with the same solution. When dry, reinsert the plate in the holder.
7. Reattach the lint screen and the back cover and plug the air purifier back into the electrical outlet to restart operation.
Hope this helps.

Thank you for using FixYa.

All the lights are on

Hi,
This usually indicates that the plate is cracked or not making proper contact. Take away the purification plates and appraise them for damage. If they are broken through, then they want to be replaced.

Try washing the purification plates with a result of one part tepid water and one part ammonia. Take an aged toothbrush and fall it into the ammonia result and scrub the metallic grids on the purification plate. If there are bank deposits on the grids, scrub them until they gleam and perform both boundaries of the plate. Scrub the metallic acquaintances that contact the plate as well. Rinse off the plate with tap water and sanction it to dry fully completed for 24 hours or use a hair dryer to dry the plate.

I have a bleach smell

If the unit hasn't been cleaned recently and that includes the filter, that may be the problem. Also, be sure to carefully remove and clean the glass plaques. Be sure they are totally dry before reinstalling them.

Hope this helps you solve the odor problem.

Ecoquest Breeze was just fine than I tured it on

Hi,
Take the multi meter and with the ohms setting, find where the unit is shorted...my guess would be the transformer...
But by taking wires off and checking the circuit you should be able to track down the exact source of the shorting...

Unit will not turn on. New fuse installed.

The mesh screen filter on the back, may not be installed properly. There is a tab near one of the corners of the filter, that fits into a safety switch (much like the tab on a dryer door or washer door). It must be installed so that if pushes the trigger snugly. If the filter frame appears to be warped or bent, gently straighten it. Reinstall the filter and make sure the tab is tightly in place.

Hope this helped to solve your problem. Please let me know.

When the unit is turned

Sometimes, for some reason, the lights burn out or don't function correctly. However, you can determine by hearing, smelling, and looking at the fan to see where the machine is set. If the controls still work, and everything seems to be running, just keep using the machine. Since Vollara (EcoQuest new owners) no longer sells nor repairs the machine, your option for repair is just to keep investigating until you find a former dealer or repair person who would look at it.

Will not turn on - no power at all

If your Breeze was working, but you cleaned it and now it won't turn on, the problem almost certainly is with the reassembly of the components. Go through the following checklist. 1) Make sure the plug in the back is inserted firmly and the wall socket is live. 2) The little switch by the plug should have the "I" end depressed and the "0" end up. 3) Check to make sure the back screen is inserted firmly, depressing the interior safety switch. (It will click when positioned correctly). 4) Make sure the plates are inserted correctly, with the top and bottom in the little grooves and the metal fingers pressing firmly on the screen part of the plate. You may need to twist the white upright posts slightly to align the contacts. 5) Try both the manual and remote controls. If the manual controls work, but the remote ones do not, check to see if the little plastic battery shield is still in the remote. Remove it by pulling on the little tab. If that's not the issue, also try a new battery in the remote. If one set of controls works, but the other doesn't, you may operate the machine with only the working controls and ignore the others. 6) If none of the above suggestions helps, remove the plug in back, and pull out the fuse to see if it is blown. Very infrequently, a sudden powerup or power surge will blow the fuse. If so, replace it with the EXACT same size fuse, available at an auto parts store. If none of these troubleshooting steps works, then it would appear that the problem is in the computerization. Unfortunately, Vollara (new name for EcoQuest) is no longer servicing nor selling the Breeze. Your only option to get it fixed would be to find a dealer who still has some, along with extra parts, in stock. If you call Customer Service, they will give you some trade-up options. 800-989-2299.
