I've been in touch with the designer of some of their amps and there are quite a few updates now
Cambridge audio volume control
The normal error on this type of volum resistor is that the volum is erratic when adjusted or goes the opposite way that you want it to go. This can be fixed by dismounting the front and the front PCB from the front. This will give you access to the volume "potmeter". Open the potmeter and you'll see the contact plates and the thin "arms" that is supposed to touch the contact plate. Pull these arme gently out so they push down harder on the contact plate. This will normally fix all problems that has to do with volum adjustment errors.

The unit would not turn off by pressing the button
Sinc this will not rurn off with the remote I believ it is a little more serious than a power button. Most of the time when something fails like this it is a failure of one of the electronic components in the amp. These amp dram a lot of votage and creat a lot of heat which in turn wears the solder joints down to where they can crack over time from the expanding and contracting due to the heat and you get an open solder joint that needs to be repaired or you could have some of the capacitors that have blown and need replaced. open the unit and look for any signs of heat related damages such as scorh marks or burnt or mushroomed capacitors as well as all the cold soldered joints. If any damage is seen then it most likely could be repaired fairly easily sine we know where the problem is. If no damage is found then it will take an ossciliscope to correctly pinpoint the bad component. You may however get lucky and by doing a hard reset it could clear itself. Unplug the unit for 30 min then plug it back in and see if it resets, if not start looking for the damage I mentioned earlier. Most likely it will be in the power supply boards.

Years ago the volume and balance on amps were on seperate circuits. But these days they are on one. It sounds like this problem is all down to an IC in the pre-amp stage. If you trace the connection from the volume control to the PC board you will find this chip. If you come accross more than one, put the code numbers into Google and see what they do. If you see one the at deals with volume and balance, you have got the culprit!

Did you take the time to fill out the Warrenty Card? It's VERY important that you do when you buy ANYTHING, especially electronics. Call the store where you bought it. Ask them if they can track it (the sale) If it can be fixed under warranty, be prepared to have to ship it back to the manufacturer.

get an Ohmmeter, take a reading on each speaker line one at a time, on both A & B speaker lines. You should get a reading of 8+/- ohms. The speaker switch with the 6 spks will probably read almost 0 ohms when all 6 are running. That is what your amp is not liking. Try running it with one set of speakers on the switch,with the Tannoys on ch A on your amp and the switch on B. add one pair of the 6 at a time and you'll see that it won't like all 6 at once. 2, maybe 4, at a time is probably what you'll find to work.

Caimbridge audio amp right channel always dies
Stereo amps are two mono amps put together. So if you have a bad channel then you also have a good channel to compare it with. I suspect you have a faulty transistor. You can test it by proding the channels with a pen or your finger - touching plastic only parts. The two channels should buzz. If buzzs in the left then if you touch it in the right it should do the same. An alteration or change in the sound in the right and you have found the faulty part.It's nothing to do with the power supply section so keep away from that!

For model AZUR 740A with random DC-error on display after power on.
Only several resets will be a solution, but not for long !!
Behind the rear panel is a small pcb with 2 relays
which switch the transformer AC output to the rectifiers of each amp channel
Relays are branded " MASSUSE", type ME-11,with a 12VDC coil,
contacts 8A / 250VAC
They are DPDT type.( double pole double throw)
Contacts will detoriate ( burned) after several years.
Replacing these relays by a good model ( Schrack i.e.) will be the final solution to
get rid of the DC-error problem and will save your speakers !!
The pcb can be removed without disassemling the rear cover, only the top cover is enough, but this is with very tiny TORX screws.You need a very small fitting tool.
