1. Your issue from the information here seems to be related to the power supply section of the set.
2. You may have a rectifier circuit that has failed .
3. A power regulator ( transistor) or failing capacitors in the power start up circuit ( primary side of the main-board).
To sum it up your TV will need a service tech to test each section on the main board to find the faulty component/ components.

Ur tv convergence are dead.U must know how to solders?Must repalced 2 STK convergence ICS,and some or all it resistors.Tries websites like Tv repair World.com,Tvrepairkits.com to buy a convergence kit to repair it ur self.The shop will cost u $300-350 for parts and labors.

This is the best solution for your problem as a 40 year experience with wires etc. Go to the source of your cable signal connector . Open it and clean the terminals with emery paper , sand the end of the cable shiny clean from corrosion , get a new barrel connectors with gold terminals if possible lengthen the ends of the cable , insert and tighten good, use thick rg-16 or rg 40 cable with good insulation ends crimped professionally with a crimpier or buy ready made , not from dollar store. Get a gold plated professional splitter if you need one or two , it will cost about 15 or more each . Make the cable runs as short as possible, using the thick good cables. If needed get a signal magnifier. From radio shack or the source etc. Connect them good and tight . Ground the splitters . Problem solved , you will get crystal clear channel 2 to 7 including 3 and 4 . Isolate the TV cable from other cables and power wires. Vitally

usually the flybacks solder becomes an issue and will blow the FL231, DL231 and the CL230. You can get the repair kit called the ITC222 and ITC222A convergence option missing. From www.tvrepairworld.com which contains the parts and the CD with instructions.

the ITC222 and ITC222a Convergence option missing repair kit from www.tvrepairworld.com should solve that issue. The kit also contains the CD with instructions.
