Try to fix it by using the convergence adjustment. Use the manual method to set it if the auto feature fails. If you are unable to focus the TV using its convergence adjustment it's time to call the TV repair guy. Figure about $300.00 USD for your model.

The projecction width has reduced with the three guns going out of alignment to give the three images.
It is possible that the power supply voltage has reduced which has made the projection drop down to give this reduced size.
Check for possible failrue of the filter capacitor or the fault in the SM pre driver circuit, possible redduction of value of some associated electrolytes.
Check for visible signs of capacitor leaks or use a multimetter to confirm.

IF YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT THE COAX INPUT, YES IT CAN BE REPLACED BUT you have another option----use a cable box and input it into one of the video inputs, this bypasses the coax input..got it/

Their is serveral reasons as to why your TV will not come on, have you checked the power supply deflection board for bad capacitors cp114 cp120 cp150 1000uf 16v, if these caps look swollen or puffed up on top they are bad.You can try to just replace the whole board

Install the RCA repair kit called ITC222 & ITC222A convergence option missing repair kit available from www.tvrepairworld.com the kit contains the parts and the CD with repair instructions.

Audio is processed on the small signal board. It may be the audio output or you may need to replace the small signal board if you have noticed the sett shutting off evry once in a while. The small signal board having problems is very famous in RCA ITC222 and the ITC222A series.

Replace the deflection board. The ITC222A deflection Board PSB-260 is the correct deflection board for your model. You can get the replacement board from www.tvrepairworld.com the boards come with the CD with installation instructions.

Projection TV sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the video to look normal. When its out of alignment the video will look 3D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the TV menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired.

This is a very common failure on these projection sets and a fairly simple DIY fix. All projeciton sets including Samsung, RCA, Sony, Philip Magnavox, Panasonic, Pioneer, Akai, GE, JVC, Toshiba, and others at some point will have the same problem.

Common Symptoms include....

• Screen looks 3D
• Colors don't line up
• One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
• Screen is bowed or warped.
• TV shuts off after powering on. Power light will blink. TV may also make a chirping noise.

Here is a quick test....

Using your original remote go-to the settings menu then goto the convergence section.

Try to adjust the red and then the blue convergence.

You should be able to move RED and BLUE in all directions - up, down, left, and right. And you should be able to get the grid straight.

If you can't move them in all directions or cant move them far enough your convergence chips are bad and should be replaced. This is a common problem.

Note: If you TV has as flash focus or magic focus button only try pressing the button. If it fails to fix the convergence your need to fix it. See below for a fix

CONVERGENCE SOLUTION

You will need to replace the convergence chips and possibly some convergence resistors and pico fuses.
This is a a fairly easy DIY job if you are handy and can follow directions. You can get complete repair kits from TvRepairKits.com or click here. They have put together DIY repair kits that include the OEM parts and step by step photo instructions for each repair. If you are not handy or can't follow directions we would suggest calling a shop.

These sets are famous for loose connections, bad capacitors and bd ribbon cable plugs. To start, solder all connections at the flyback transformer. Check the power supply, located at the front of the PCB on the left, for bulged electrolytic capacitors. Also, while soldering the flyback, check the horizontal section for loose solder joints. Lastly, you may need to replace the ribbon plugs on the left board. The ribbons actually tie the left and right boards together. They will be two white flat ribbons next to each other. if you go into your setup menu, you will find an autoconvergence option. just select this and it will autoalign. this tv is known for a loose solder connection causing a fuse to blow and you will lose all convergence (getting rainbow bowing at all sides of the picture) let me know if you can solder and want to tackle this repair. estimate = 100-200 $

Thanks for using FixYa. To start with you’ll have to open the back of the unit and then start checking for any bad components as the burning smell indicates a capacitor might have gone swollen. Check for bad connection around flyback transformer; also check the fuses which appear like a rectangular plastic. Also the Flyback transformer is responsible for sending the high voltage to the three picture tubes so it can be that the flyback needs to be replaced and as I said you’ll know once you open the back of the unit. conversions are out....rca ... check for bad connections on circuit board around fryback xformer. check fuse by flyback xformer...fuse is shaped like a little plastic rectangle>>fuses should measure a SHORT when GOOD! Flyback Transformer is large in size and sends highvoltage to 3 picture tubes via a SPLITTER . easy to locate
