I am attaching a picture of the flyback whicch is the large transformer which is on the far left side and has the thick red wire coming out its top. The small signal board is the large green board on the right side with all of the inputs on it. The small signal board is a sensitive board and requires professional tools (Chipper Check interface )to diagnose and repair. But the flybacks are famous for failing. the flyback is circled in the pic

Replace the deflection board that model is famous for that issue. You need the PSDF-240 deflection board. You can get the board at www.tvrepairworld.com

Try resoldering the flyback transformer, If that doesnt solve the issue then the small signal board is most likely the culprit.

That can be caused by several items. First you will need to press menu on the remote then scroll down to setup and then enter setup and see if the auto convergence and manual convergence options are still listed under the set up menu or have they disappeared. Then just respond to this same post and let me know if the options are listed there still or not and I can then let you know the best way to repair the issue.

The deflection board is the most likliest cause. The flyback and Hot plus the power caps all on the deflection board are famous for having issues. Often its best to replace the deflection board. Your model uses the PSB-260 deflection board which is available from www.tvrepairworld.com

Try to adjust it in to your remote by choosing the menu button and try look for the picture setting or picture size when adjusting it you should press the volume control in your remote up and down, it may help thank's.

Here are some basic steps that will help you fixing the problem.

I'm assuming that your unit is dead set without an standby LED light and your outlet is live.1.Power cord - check the cord it might be opened (no continuity).This is due to frequent bending,pulling. 2. Power switch - check for dry joints, open contact. 3.Check the internal fuse- sometimes the fuse fail because of the power surge, replacing with new one will cure the problem, If this is the case I would advice you to use surge protector/AVR (Automatic Voltage Regulator). However if the fuse blew again this is an indication that you have a shorted parts in the power supply, you may visit the linkhttp://www.fixya.com/support/r8053361-fuse_keeps_blowing for more info. If no reaction and still the unit didn't power up then you have an open parts on the power supply.

4.If you see that the fuse is intact , don't attempt to touch anything because there some fatalcomponents stored electricity enough to hurt you with a simple mistake only. I would advice you to look for a professional to troubleshoot the power supply. If you want to repair it yourself make sure that you have necessary tools and test instrument. First check bad solder joints(re-solder all cold solder), leaky electrolytic capacitor(sometimes it has bulged at the top but not all, you better have a capacitor checker), open/shorted regulator transistor/IC(mounted in heat sink), open fusible resistor (caused by shorted regulator Transistor/IC), shorted zener diode.

Also check if your unit is under warranty before opening the back panel, it will void the warranty. Avail it because the manufacturer of your unit will fix it for free or a little charge only.

THE CONVERGENCE NEEDS REPAIR....$300+

The problem of your tv is the convergence try to adjust it manually in the setting of your tv. If still same or no effect the convergence IC is already defective. You can find it inside your tv it is connected to a large aluminum called the heat sink it has a marking of stk- followed with a number.Try to replace it.

Projection TV sets have two very common problems. One is convergence ( 3D/Warped video) the other is CRT fluid ( Dull Video). Below are more details for both items. Also, complete repair kits with instructions and repair support are avail from site such as www.TvRepairKits.com

Common Problem #1) Convergence has gone out

Projection TV sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the video to look normal. When its out of alignment the video will look 3D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the TV menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired.

This is a very common failure on these projection sets and a fairly simple DIY fix. All projection sets including Samsung, RCA, Sony, Philip Magnavox, Panasonic, Pioneer, Akai, GE, JVC, Toshiba, and others at some point will have the same problem.

Common Symptoms include....

• Screen looks 3D
• Colors don't line up
• One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
• Screen is bowed or warped.
• TV shuts off after powering on. Power light will blink. TV may also make a chirping noise.

Common Problem #2) CRT Fluid is Cloudy

Projection TV tubes have a liquid coolant that is used to keep them from overheating. After many years the coolant in the blue and green tubes will become cloudy and cause the screen to look dull, red/orange, etc. You may even see halos around images.

Thats a deflection issue which will require replaceing the deflection board PSB240 you can get the replacement deflection board PSB-240 from www.tvrepairworld.com

try this
unplug the unit for 30 seconds then re plug and press and hold channel down and volume down at the same time see if the unit comes on if so then turn it back off them turn on with power button

if nothing happens you need a tech to take a look at the fuse them flyback and hot transistor

The tv have a problems known as a convergence problems,it dead.Tv have colors lines R,G,B mis alignments,have colors shadow pictures or 3D pictures look alike?The tv convergence board is dead.The tv convergence board must have replace the 2 STK convergence ICS and some or all of it resistors too.To fixed the tv convergence board to solved the tv convergence picture problems.The shop,will cost u like $300-350 for parts and labors.

ok this is an indication that you might have a problem with one of two different curcit boards. these cuircit are the "convergence power supply " or the "convergence amplifer board".. These 2 boards are above the main board in the set. Union electronics is where i purchased the last one i got. they are around 50 to 75 apeaice for them. You must have the exact model number with suffix number.

usually an issue with the color wheel not being calibrated or the backlight reflecting from multiple angles.

sounds like the cP150, CP120 and CP114 capacitors need replacement. You can get the CP150, CP120 and CP114 repair kit from www.tvrepairworld.com the kit contains the capacitors and the CD with instructions.
