Check its color system settings. If the system setting is wrong, there will be no color.

See what the output is from the Direct TV box---if from the rear jacks it goes to the matching ones on the set. Coax to coax or more commonly component to component---rather straightforward.

there is a power regulating ic (5v,8v,3.3v) you have to replace that ic new &check

Check the electrical outlet which the tv is plugged into. Make sure nothing is loose at the outlet as well as on the back of the tv where the power cable plugs in.
Another thing to try is plug a different device into that same electrical outlet and see if it turns on/off as well. If that device also turns on/off by itself, it could be a faulty outlet.

There have been a lot of problems with the Samsung sets, one dealer I know had so many complaints about the ones he sold he stopped selling them and switch to another brand and he has been trouble free ever since. To answer your question they have problems with the screens, color texture, lines, fade out to name a few, from what you have described you have at least two or three issues, considering the history I would replace it.

I AM HAVING THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM WITH MINE ! But before mine turns off, it shows a blurry squiggly red mark on the screen then shuts off and wont turn back on sometimes for several hours.. And everytime I CAN get it back on, I have to unlpug the whole thing and plug it back in...

the set having blue scteen when the nosignal condition so blue horizontal line due to failure in vertical deflection section and system control detect the vertical delection failure . so system control farce to set to shut down pls repair the vertical section and system should be ok

Look for a monitor cable with 15 pin RGB plugs on each end, that will transmit the video portion of the signal so you will need an audio cable with 3.5mm plug on each end also, there are RGB cables that have the audio cable together as one big cable.

Make certain that it is not muted or turned off. If it isn't check to make sure that the audio type matches what you are watching. If you are on SAP and there isn't anything on the channel in SAP the audio will be dead. If all those check out you probably have a bad control board. $130 to $200 to fix. Let me know how things work out.

sounds like the power supply board has failed. common problem.

check to see if you have a trojan   use unhackme to remove it   you can find unhackme on torrents  or go to filetopia (a peer to peer software)  and go to the All Good Things room   I'm The_MacGyver

hum bar. possibly related to power supply filtering. sometimes reversing the power plug will help. check cable connections for tight fit.

is the blurry all around the picture have different color like a smear of red, blue or yellow?
if it is i think the posistor of your tv is not working. it is the one who activate the degaussing coil around the picture tube the prevent color miss-landing upon opening your tv set.
