DVD Player that repeatedly says NO DISC for Polaroid PDM-0752

either needs to be clean or the REGION needs to be set up to 1 or ALL , LETS TRY WITH cleaning the OPTICAL LENS with a dry Q tip , gently rub a few strokes at the lens , and give it a try, if NOT then try to set the REGION to 1 or all, if still not reading the disc , then have to replace the optical lens, good luck , AJ

Bad disc error

Hi the chances are the problem you are having is going to be with the laser lense, you will probably find that it is covered in dust and is not reading the disks properly, so if you go into a computer repair or hardware shop you can buy a cd lense cleaning kit you then put the cleaning disk into your dvd player and it will then remove any dust build up and should get it working properly.

If after doing this your still having problems then the chances are the laser is on its way out and may need replacing, the problem with this is that the cost of repair could cost more than buying a new dvd player, so for now i would try the lense cleaning kit and see if that solves your problem.
9 out of 10 of the times it solves the problem so it is worth trying the cleaning first.

Also make sure you dvd's are clean and free from scratches you can run them under a cold tap to clean them and then dry them using kitchen roll just dont press to hard when drying.

Porable dvd plays in black and white

This could be that you are using NTSC or american region DVDs or the connections that you are using if you use a SCART to composite video incorrectly then you will get a B&W signal into your TV

Dear Sir The dvd cannot read the disc

One of the problems with many DVD players is as they get older the spindle motor is unable to overcome the inertia of the spindle + the disc.

If this is the case the read head will try to hunt for the start of the DVD if it is not spinning then it wont be able to find the DVD. If you can access the DVD by taking the cover off you can give the DVD a chance to spin by giving it a little push if the player can find the DVD then you can watch the movie.

If this is the case you will need a new spindle motor fitting to your player.

Polaroid lcd tv-combo

If the TV goes off completely, then is usually a faulty power board.

If the TV goes in standby, then it is in protection mode.

Ensure also that the fault is not coming from a faulty receiver box sending
bad signal, check if you get same problem on DVD with no receiver box
connected.

Try first leaving the TV power cord unplugged for some times, let say one hour or so.

The flashing light indicates a diagnostic state called protection.
When the TV goes on protection there are only two possible causes.

1Theinternal circuits are jammed because of electrostaticcharges accumulating on capacitors, or because of a wrong voltage readby the main chip on your monitor controller board. this started theprotection circuit.

2 The protection circuit detected a wrongvoltage or abroken contact, identified an internal fault and kicked in, starting the flashing light.

If you are in situation one, then the TV will reset just unplugging power cord for one or two hours, sometimes even minutes.

If you are in situation 2 , then there is an internal fault.

If under warranty contact the manufacturer ringing the number on the user manual

If you want to repair at your own expenses, just locate any good qualified repairer.

On LCD Payparticular attention at inverter and power board, power board can beinspected looking for bulged or leaking capacitors, then tested with amultimeter. The inverter is more difficult to test , there is need toread voltages, should be done by a tech. Also the LCD controller board can cause same problem

On Plasma, test Sustain (Ysus/Zsus) / Buffer boards , cables to plasma, digital board and power board.

On Rear Projection : check lamp, lamp ballast, power board, and convergence.

On CRT TVs, check ballast , flyback transformer, CRT, Tuner, Convergence.
