Washer wont agitate, pops breaker
Could be the gears/transmission for the agitate cycle are jammed, the motor then freezers, creates an overload and the breaker pops.
My maytag wount spin
Yes, the motor should have a little play in it. What does it do when it gets to the spin cycle?
Fills with water and then nothing
Possible that the water level sensor is faulty or there is fault in the main program controller unit. You need to check on the output to the valve and the pressure sensor to cut off the supply and start the motor.
My Maytag Ensignia washer is not spinning well. It
Try leveling the washer... If the washer is level, then don't wrap the clothes around the agitator...drop the clothes straight in, on top of each other evenly around the agitator. The Ensignia washer has a Dual action agitator... That means the clothes roll over them selves, instead of moving side to side, as with a traditional agitator. wrapping the clothes around the agitator will cause the load to be un balanced and then cause the "banging" noise... this should take care of the problem...
Squeeks when washing
This advise is for Kenmore Elite and Whirlpool Duet front loader washers and dryers with a Control Lock problem.
This may or may not be an indication of a serious problem. In the majority of the cases, this is a simple operator error. Nearly all these model appliances have some sort of Control Lock feature on the front panel now. This is a designed safety feature that is used to prevent small children from manipulating the controls. The controls can be easily locked or unlocked by pressing and holding the following button on the front panel:
Whirlpool Duet Washer - Press and hold the END OF CYCLE SIGNAL button for 3 seconds.
Whirlpool Duet Dryer - Press and hold the END OF CYCLE SIGNAL button for 3 seconds.
Kenmore Elite Washer - Press and hold the DRAIN/SPIN button for 3 seconds.
Kenmore Elite Dryer - Press and hold the AUTO DRY LEVEL button for 3 seconds.
These instructions may not be all inclusive for all Kenmore and Whirlpool models, but they are the most common. Chances are, if you have a Control Lock feature, the instructions will be printed on the front panel adjacent to the button that is required to lock or unlock the controls.
NOTE: These instructions may also work for newer model Maytag, Hotpoint, Admiral and Fridgidaire model front loaders as well. Refer to your owner's manual or front panel for instructions pertaining to your sepcific model.
If the Control Lock feature will not lock or unlock the appliance, unplugging the unit for AT LEAST 30 minutes is recommended in order to reset the main control board. In many cases this is all that is required to correct momentary glitches.

Sounds as though you may have something lodged in your pump. The pump runs all the time on this model, just backwards during the agitation portion. Tip your washer back and slip your belt off the pulleys and turn them by hand to see if you can identify the culprit. the pump should be the pulley all the way in the back right hand corner. Look between the pully and the bottom of the pump to see if you see a silver wrinkle stamped piece of steel (press sleeve) that is hitting the pulley if so you will need to replace the pump as it has slid out of it's housing. You can also romove the access cover on the back of the machine(where drain hose connects) to see the pump, I have found in the past that often something will travel down the hose from the outer tub and get stuck inside the pump causing constatn noise.
Good luck to you on this! Feel free to ask if you have any other questions!
Sounds like gravel when it is washing
Ball bearings are worned out. Repalce the bearings with the same type no. or equiv.
Inspect the bearing holding shaft also. If it ir worn circularly, replace the shaft also. You have to replace the wter seal also.
How do i take the front panel off the maytag
pop off the end caps on the control panel and remove the screws ,,,then pull the panel slightly forward and flip it back ih has plastic hinges on top so be careful,,,, next unplug your lid switch,,,then remove the two clips holding the back to the base with a screwdriver,,, then open the lid reach inside the inner rim and pull the back towards you at about a 45degree angle and then lift the base off the frame ,,,look inside and pay attention how the base comes off the frame and it will be easier to put back together!
Loud squealing noise during spin cycle.
Please keep in mind, I'm attempting to diagnose your unit without being there and with very little information.
From my experience, I would think you have a bad belt. They get stretched over time and start squealing in the spin cycle. If you don't change it, it will make a noise in every cycle until it comes off.
NOTE.
When changing belt. Check and be sure the pulleys have no play on their shafts. They also go bad. It's better to fix it all now than one to have to repair four or five times this year. Good luck!

Washer shuts itself off
This maybe a motor going bad because over heating or to hot. Switch inside of motor wareing out or burnt points on switch. See a apppliance repairman to check this out. Hope this may help.
