Check on the material the containers are made of. If they are not microwave friendly then they will cause problems.
Some materials are designed to "Roast" the contents by absorbing the energy.
Check with a Pyrex glass container and water. The glass should stay fairly cool.

No! the fuse is fine, there are three likely causes, magnetron, "heats food" cracked high voltave diode, or a shorted high voltage capacitor.

This can be a sticker that glues to the panel and it is possible that the touch pad glue had come off.
You need to refix this to the panel if this seems to come off.

It may be that the exhaust duct is blocked or the filter is dirty.

That can cause the oven to run chronically hot, which damages the microwave.

The whole duct needs to be checked for any blockage.

You will need to remove the oven from the wall.

To remove it from the wall, the installation instructions are very handy, and it's best to have two people since the microwave can be heavy and awkward.

Whirlpool customer service is here and you can also enter your model number on that page to download your owner's manual, installation instructions, etc..

It sounds like the magnetron may have either failed or is not being supplied with the extremely high voltage required to run it.

YOUR SAFETY IS PARAMOUNT

This is a job for a professional but if you are safety clued up, here's instruction.
Make sure the !!!!any capacitors are discharged!!!!! before attempting any sort of repair.
Check the door interlock switches first then the high voltage diode with either an AVO model 8 or moving coil meter on high resistance range for short circuit, (DVM's won't show the fault!), the capacitor can fail and go short circuit, the feed fuse on the primary of the high voltage transformer and then finally, the magnetron is best checked by substitution.
Hope that helps.

If the microwave is making a humming sound, the diode s bad and needs to be changed. If the microwave sounds normal, the magnetron is bad and needs to be replaced.

the most common cause is a faulty magnetron. How ever you can check the thermal cuts to the magnetron if hey have no continuity then it needs to be replace. if you are not comfortable with the electricals then set it up for service most units the magnetron will be covered under a warranty.

The first thing to try is a "hard reset". Unplug it from the power line for a few minutes, plug it back in, set the clock, then try again.

Let us know if the hard reset doesn't fix it.
