Test this setup with your walkman/ipod.

The most likely problem is in your computer's mixer selection.

Put a CD into your computer drive and play this CD.

If the CD audio output is low then dial up the mixer CD output.

If you do not has audio via CD at all then the CD drive to sound card audio cable is disconnected.

Everything plugged in but no

Hi!

Few things to check:
1) The speakers are connected to the GREEN jack on the rear side of the computer (or wherever it is on a laptop).

2) The volume on the speakers themselves is not too low or muted.

3) The sound is not muted through the operating system. If it´s Windows, there should be a speaker icon next toi the computer's clock on the task bar; Make sure it should have a red X or cross over it.

4) The Audio device is installed correctly:
Go to Device Manager and make sure there are no yellow question marks or exclamation marks and that there are no red Xs. If you do have any of those, please specify your motherboard model (or laptop model) so I could try helping you search for the currend audio device driver.

Don't hesitate to consult me if you have any further questions...
Best regards,
Pelu.

My speakers are not working. They are not being

speakers do not register themselves as a device. The interface to the speakers is the sound card. Whether this is an add-on module or part of the motherboard, you need sound drivers for it. Make sure you have these installed. You can search for new hardware to get this done automatically. I would recommend Uniblue software which you can download from the internet if you can't get this working. Make sure you back up all your drivers before overwriting any by new ones.

No volume from speakers. can you help?

crappy thing about speakers...most people are using 1/4 inch plug-in, and computers just don't register them.
If you're SURE about the speakers ("I don't think..." is not sure. Take them to a friend and try them out there), then you might have a faulty plug.
2nd...make sure you have all the volume controls set to high. Windows, media players...look in your hardware and software for anything related to audio, and check to make sure that you don't have some sort of master volume settings on "mute" or something like that.
3rd- take the laptop to a computer store, and see if they can get it to play..they're already set up with playing speakers, and will gladly jump through the ropes for you if they think you're just shopping for a good set for your computer, then help you diagnose the problem if they don't work there.

If everything is grayed out in the audio devices property in the control panel, that means there's a problem with your audio driver, first step I would take is to reboot your machine, hopefully it will come back.

If that fails, most Dell computers come with a Application CD, put the CD in the CD rom drive and have it reload the audio drivers back in.

Also make sure your speakers are plugged into the green port on back of your computer
