When the ON button is pressed, the machine turns

Hello teresa_jeff,
On most coffee makers there are two filters: the coffee filter and the water filter. Open the lid and look for a water filter "stick" and pull it out. Open it up and clean out the carbon filter and gunk. Clean out the debris in the bottom of the cavity. Frequently, the clogged water filter prevents the switch from staying on when pressed due to a sensor. Try to clean the system with 2 part water and 1 part vinegar, rinse with a pot of fresh water run through. If these suggestions fail to remedy your switch problem then it most likely would be a defective switch.
I hope that this helps you. Happy brewing! NormanZ

Ref: Mr. Coffee Burr Mill Hopper: How do I keep the housing of the grinder from filling with large amounts of ground coffee?

You need to clean it out every 3-4 days. I use a brush and pointed knife for the packed grounds. Mine works great now.

Mr coffee beeps 3 times and thats all, no brew

3 beeps means plugged water line. Take off the bottom of the coffee maker with a small phillips head screwdriver. Use pliers (I used needle nose type) to remove the wire clamps holding on the silicone water tubes to the hot plate. In my case, the water line from the reservoir to the plate was clogged with something I couldn't see until I blew on the hose and it popped out, could have been scale, grounds etc Clean with vinegar. Back in service!

My mr. coffeemaker beeps 5 times and doesn't brew the coffee I just purchased this coffee pot last month aug 2014. what could be the problem

I see two problems that you've described. First, you have a bad empty-reservoir sensor. Mine went out on my first Mr. Coffee within the first month also. The purpose of the sensor is to trigger the beeping to simply let you know when the coffee is done. The coffeemaker would normally work fine otherwise. Second, you have a bad heating element. This is the core function of your coffeemaker and renders it useless for anything but a nice warming plate. I recommend replacing the coffeemaker. In the future, make sure you do not add water to the reservoir unless the coffeemaker has been turned of for at least five minutes. This will help prolong the life of the heating element. The heating element will naturally degrade over time. But, it can incur sudden damage when the reservoir is refilled with water too soon - while the element is still hot. Because of the simple design, if the coffeemaker is on, then both the warming plate's heating element and the reservoir's heating element are on. So, after a brewing cycle is complete, the reservoir's heating element stays on. Without any in the reservoir to keep it cool, the heating element superheats. So, if water is put in the reservoir while the coffeemaker is on or before the element has adequately cooled, the sudden burst of steam from the water contacting the element can be quite violent.

My mr. coffee does not work. you plug it in and nothing happens. it is a model tf series..

If you're handy with appliance repair and can use a voltmeter, UNPLUG the coffee maker and proceed with this. If not, buy a new coffee maker. Most likely, the thermal fuse has failed. Remove enough screws to get to the tank on top of the appliance (usually aluminum). You'll see a small device with wires on each end attached to the tank, perhaps by a bent-over aluminum tab. It might have a fabric sleeve around it. Put your ohmmeter on both ends of the fuse, and it should read a dead short. If it's open, that's the problem. Remove the fuse, look for a number on the side of it, do a Google search for the replacement and order one. Depending on how the fuse is connected, you may have to solder in the new fuse. Install it exactly like the original, including fabric sleeve, if applicable. Your coffee maker is fixed.

Why does my mr. Coffee decanter leak?

First I'm not a Mr. Coffee tech but I have worked on similar machines. * Most decanters are made of tempered glass and unless cracked it should not leak. * Most overflowing pots are caused by over filling brewing tank. This can be caused by re-pouring additional water into the brew tank. (automatic brewers may have a leaking water valve - call your vendor for service) * Partial brewing (taking coffee from a brewing pot) and then putting in more water. * Removing the pot BEFORE it stops dripping. It leaves a puddle of coffee on the warmer plate *Over filling the water tank. Most times the extra water will spill out the back. But some may overflow into the basket area then the warmer plate. * Follow the MFR brewing instructions for filling. * All brewers should stop water drips after brewing. If you get a constant drip AFTER brewing then have the brewer checked or replaced. Call your vendor. Aloha, ukeboy57

Where is the stop valve in the hose of my mr. coffee supposed to be located

If the valve is supposed to be in the hose then it matters not where in the hose you put it, the important thing is to have it the correct way around.
