Amana ACB065R 6000 BTU TOUCH/REMOTE ROMM AIR CONDITIONER Questions & Answers
How big does the room have to be to cool with this
There are many things that need to be considered to properly answer this question. Number of windows, amount of insulation, direction the room faces and how high are the ceilings are just a few. Generally speaking (this is a guesstimate) you should be able to cool around 200 square feet.
Amana air conditioner keeps popping its cord breaker
This a ground fault breaker. They do go bad. Is it kicking it all the time or when you plug it in. I replaced a lot of the ground fault plugs. I'm not getting any code after installing a control board for my Amana ptac?
Does the power light come on?
If yes, then you can do a reset as below:
There is a master switch on the bottom left of the control board. Slide that to 'off' position.
Then press the hot and cold switch/key together and then slide the master switch back to 'on'.
Please put your response/observation here if that does not work or there is power light as asked on top.
Thanks
Amana PTH153B50AM PTAC where the heat runs intermittently.

Amana Wall unit blows cold air before heating
The cold that you describe may be just unconditioned air? If you are certain you can hear the comp operating for a couple of minutes, and then the heat starts, I would guess it is a reversing valve issue if it's a heat pump and it probably is. Or the control board acting up. I've had a lot of issues with the boards in the Amanda PTAC units. I can't remember how to configure it, but if you Google "Amanda ptac configuration", there is a lot of info online. May try a reset method first. Hope this helps!

You do not need the external drain pan unless the unit makes more water than the drain pan and drain pan heater can handle.

There was a lot of water in it Be careful. I brought mine to the tub and drained it for close to 2 min. Started right back up!
