Try connecting a cable directly from your router to your laptop and using the actual IP address of your router instead of routerlogin.com, being a Netgear it should be 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1.
Hope this helps.

Which password do you mean? The wifi passowrd or the admin password?
The admin password is likely to be password (if it hasn't been changed) but the Wifi password you will only be able to see if you can access the router.
Easiest way is to use an ethernet cable between the router and the computer. Open up the netgear admin page (admin & password), then on the left hand side click on Set-up and then select wireless settings. Your wifi password will either be written on the next page or you will see four boxes of numbers with a blue spot against one of them. That one is your passowrd.

It may be borked, especially if you've had a power surge or outage. You may wish to call your internet service provider and request that they send a "Reset" signal to your Modem. It may even be offered through their automated menu before you reach a real person. Failing that, try the following steps: 1. Unplug/power to ALL OF THE COMPONENTS - modem, router, and computer. Wait 20 seconds, then restore the power cord to the modem. Wait 1 minute until the modem fully boots and settles down. Next, restore the power cord to the router and wait at least 30 seconds for it to fully boot and settle down. Next, restore power to the computer and wait for it to fully boot up and settle down. Now, see if you have internet access. If not, go to Step 2. 2. Right-click on the network icon in the system tray and select "Troubleshoot problems". Wait while the Windows troubleshooter tries to identify and fix the problem. Now, see if you have internet. If not, go to Step 3. 3. Go to Control Panel/Device Manager. Under Network adapters, select the network adapter you're using and choose Uninstall. Click Yes/Apply/OK as appropriate. Restart the computer and wait while Windows re-installs the drivers for your adapter. Now, see if you have internet. 4. Try a different router.

is it a pin or a wireless security key?

The RESET button is for resetting the wireless section of the router and does not effect the Internet connection. It looks like the wireless access is faulty especially when you cannot reset and configure the wireless settings.Try powering off the Netgear for 10 mins the connect the power again. If you still cannot RESET the Netgear then it is faulty and you need a new wireless router.
