There is an electrical short

If there is a short in your headphones and the cables need to be replaced it is better you get an expert to do it because usually the cables are very tiny therefore any little misadventure could damage the headset completely. You need to ensure that the right wires are procured to get the exact balance in sound production. Although i would advice that if you could afford it just purchase a new one. here are a couple of links to great deals

This is because after repairs the set can never produce excellent sounds as it used to.
Hope this solution has been helpful?

Replacement pads for sony headset MDRCD6

Hi Hifi-fans.
The MDR CD6 is still my favorite, since more than 35 years. My feeling was right, I would never find a better headset than this. This was the reason, time ago I bought a second set. You can imagine meanwhile I may have to replace the x-generation of ear-pads. The first ones I ordered for a lot of money at our Sony-HQ in Colone, Germany. Meanwhile I had found a better, more flexible solution. I had checked at our electronic storehouse, which headset from another manufacturer the pads are removable without damaging. I did select the Genius HS-04S ones for the PC and they are really cheap and you may use them without the pads. At the MDR CD6 the pads does not sit much strong, but this not really a lost.
All the years I did not use the second headset, the spare one. Nevetheless the ear-pads were damaged. The covering rubber was harded and broken like old plastik. Just some minutes ago I replaced the pads by the Genius ones.
So far, good luck and I am quite sure you may find the Genius in your country.

Ear pad replacement instructions for Sony MDR-V6 Headphones

Hello to all who have exhausted all avenues seeking instructions on how to remove and replace Ear Pads on Sony MDR-V6 Headphones.... All that is required is a little patience maybe some fingernails... The Pads simply slip on and off by pinching ends of cuff that is nearest the plastic backing of The Headphones by pulling them from their seat/flange .. i found it easiest to just roll the cuff off using my thumb w/rolling motion away from the plastic backing/housing of the headphones.. no tools required.. they are installed exactally like one would place a tire on a rim.. exact same motion is required as when removing a tire.. i can give no better illustruction than comparrison to tire removal and replacement. Be careful to make sure one end in completely set deeply into one side before attempting to pull opposing side over its side/flange..start on top and work way around to bottom or vise versa.. To get an idea of what you are attempting to do take a close look at new headphone pad rear and you will see the small flap of leather on rear .. there is a small overlap that fits perfectly over the flange.. dont try to force it as you may tear them...

My Sony model # MHC-V11 MAKES NO SOUND everything seems to operate but i cant get no sound from it

Troubleshoot this issue. Here are some steps you can follow: Check Speaker Connections: Ensure that the rear surround speakers are properly connected to the Audio/Video (A/V) receiver. If applicable to your model, verify that the A/B speaker selector is set correctly. If the speakers are connected to the A speaker connection, the selector must be set to the A position. Test Tone Operation: Perform a test tone operation to check if the speakers are functioning correctly. Increase the rear speaker volume or adjust the surround speaker settings to the maximum level. Speaker Size Settings: Try selecting a different size (small or large) for the rear surround speakers in the menu. Surround Sound Mode: Verify that the A/V receiver is set to a surround sound mode. For Dolby ProLogic surround sound, ensure that the center-channel mode is set to NORMAL or WIDE. If your source is a DVD or Blu-ray Disc player, check that surround sound is enabled in the player's menu. The audio being received must be multi-channel. Different Surround Sound Mode: Try setting the A/V receiver to a different surround sound mode. Source Content: Verify that the source you are playing is encoded in surround sound. Note that during periods of mainly dialog, most of the sound may come from the center speaker only, with audio coming out of the rear speakers when there is background or ambient noise. Factory Reset: Reset the unit back to factory default settings (consult your operating instructions for model-specific steps). If applicable, follow the steps for calibrating the appropriate settings automatically after connecting the calibration microphone device. Speaker Wires and Replacement: Check and replace the speaker wires if necessary. Consider connecting a different pair of speakers to see if the issue persists. If you've tried these steps and the problem remains unresolved, I recommend seeking professional service.

My Sony DHC-FLX7D and DHC-FLX5D is not working due to humidity. Is it possible to repair it ?

steps to troubleshoot and potentially repair them: Troubleshooting Low Sound or No Audio from Rear Surround Sound Speakers: If you're facing audio problems, especially with the rear surround sound speakers, consider checking the following: Ensure that all speaker connections are secure and properly plugged in. Verify that the speaker wires are not damaged or frayed. Check the speaker settings in the system menu to ensure correct configuration. Inspect the speaker impedance and compatibility with the system. If you're using wireless speakers, check their power supply and connectivity. Refer to the operating instructions manual for specific troubleshooting steps. Flexible Circuit Board Repairing: If the issue is related to internal components, you might need professional repair. However, if you're comfortable with electronics, consider these precautions: Keep the soldering iron temperature around 270°C during repairs. Avoid touching the soldering iron on the same conductor of the circuit board more than three times. Be gentle when soldering or unsoldering to prevent damage to the conductor. Important Notice: To prevent fire or shock hazard, avoid exposing the unit to rain or moisture. Do not open the cabinet; refer servicing to qualified personnel. Avoid installing the appliance in confined spaces like bookcases or built-in cabinets.
