Nuvo Essentia Amplifier Questions & Answers
Nuvo Essentia won't power up
First, try unplugging all of the sound system and plugging the amplifier into an outlet on a circuit that was not changed by the electrical work. Also, plug an outlet tester into the outlet you were using for the amplifier to make sure it is correctly wired. If one outlet in a system has hot and neutral reversed and others don't, this could cause problems with some designs.
If you are lucky, dirty power from sparking inside the circuit breaker crashed the control circuitry in the amp, and it just needs a hard reset (power disconnect/reconnect) to be made functional again. In the worst case, something got fried and you'll have to use instruments to track it down.
I have Nuvo Essentia D amplifier. Worked for 6
The clicks are generated by 2 causes:
1 - the arrival of the electric current thru the amplifier circuit in the speaker in a large amount- it's supposed to happen, after that the current drops to the stand-by value very quickly. If a zone doesn't click then the amplifier of that zone has failed and when connected it draws so much power that the overall voltage drops so low that the processor of the unit is no longer capable of working and the system freezes.
2 - inside the unit there are also small relays that are used to power the amplifiers on command . If one of them is shorted the corresponding amplifier will not work and the relay will draw a lot more current than usual.
From what you describe it appears that several amplifiers hare in different states of failing: 3 completely, 2 already has secondary bleeding and is close to complete short, 4 has just started to fail. The unit will have to be tested, the failed amplifier circuits replaced and the power source inspected for damage. The job isn't complicated but it requires a basic electronics experience.
My all off button is
Hi Julie,
Try to reset the unit. Unplug it to the outlet. While unplug, press the power on button for 1 minute to drain the unit and refresh itself. After that plug it now to the outlet then power it on again and check if the symptom is still there.
If yes, this is an indication of out-of regulation in the power supply section or to its load. The power supply cycles on abnormal output voltages that caused with its parts malfunction or because of overload in its load. This symptom is quite technical and I would advice you to look for an experienced technician to isolate the trouble. Don't attempt to work in the power supply section if you don't have necessary tools and test instrument and don't know safety precaution of handling it. There some stored electricity that may hurt you with just a little mistake only.
Hope I helped you.
Have a nice day!
Thanks for using Fixya.
Trying to reprogram my Nuvo Essentia Amp, and I
Unfortunately it is only available to those who are certified installers/dealers. Nuvo tries to protect those that sell it and does not offer anyway to program it on your own (Unlike Russound that can be done through a keypad by anyone).
I wish I had a better answer but you will have to find a dealer/installer to get you a copy of the software.
Cheers,
Nuvo Essentia system on/off button flashes when
You may have a pair of the cat-5 wires in the incorrect order which is causing a combus fault. Check all your cat-5 connections, ensure they are T568a (GS/G/OS/B/BS/O/BrS/Br).
Let me know if that checks out and we will continue trouble shooting.
Thanks,
We have a Nuvo Essentia Six-Source, Six-Zone
I had a few systems that did this but once I performed the latest firmware update it fixed everything.
If the combus on the ipod gets shorted then it will also do this. You have to disconnect the Cat-5 cable from the dock, unhook the ipod, reconnect the cat-5, then reconnect the ipod.
I would contact your installer and have him update the system for you, failing that re-do your connections on the dock. If that does not work you may have a deformed connector on the ipod that shorts the combus (had that once on a Russound system). Or a defective dock
Hope this helps,
Clock adjustment option not there
With the keypads go to menu, then setup, then zone settings, then display settings then time display. Will have to go to each zone to do this. The installer could have asked for your preference. Some people prefer it, some don't.
How do I change to degree mode on my porpo YH-2000
- Power Off: Turn off the device.
- Jumper Configuration: Locate the jumper labeled "S16" on the device. Initially, it should be connected to pins 2 and 3.
- Power On (Alarm+All LEDs Flashing): Turn the device back on. You'll see the alarm LED and all other LEDs flashing.
- Power Off Again: Turn off the device once more.
- Jumper Adjustment: Change the jumper configuration from pins 2 and 3 to pins 1 and 2.
- Finished: Your Porpo YH-2000 is now set to the desired angular unit mode.
If you encounter any issues, you can press the reset switch on the back of the device to reinitialize it.
