If you are driving your car and it makes a noise when turning and it sounds like grinding, poor wheel bearings can be the cause behind it. Bearings act like a buffer between an axle and the wheel. ... Therefore, the worn out wheel bearings lead to friction that causes the grinding sound when turning as the car bends.

This type of Coffee Maker works using basic physics so they are not complicated so go back to basics with it. Completely take it apart and give it a really good clean. Make sure the holes in the cup for the coffee grounds are not blocked. Do the same for the upper half of the coffee maker. Check the centre pipe is clear. Also check the small pressure release hole on the side of the coffee pot. You should be able to easily run water through all the parts of your coffee maker. Once you've cleaned it try using it without coffee two or three times to clear any soap in the filter holes. Hope this helps.

I checked the verimark web site and unfortunately they don't provide access to manuals for their products... Steam cleaners generally are pretty simple, fill them with clean (preferably distilled or demineralized water) and use the stem to clean. Occasionally the heating tank can be cleaned with a weak acid to remove deposits - typically I use acetic acid (vinegar) but I guess a citric acid solution would work as well.

Try using WD-40 - no kidding! It works wonders for removing spray paint depending on the type and how long it's been on.

If the machine is fairly new and has a warranty, I'd advise taking it back to the supplier. If it is fairly old, my only reason for that happening would be that the pump pushing the water through is faulty and either has to be mended or replaced.

The lid is delicate and may have lost a point on one of its corners. Order a replacement. This has happened to me twice over the years and both times this resolved it. You can first experiment by applying very gentle pressure from the point of a small, sharp knife at one of the spots where those points of the lid clicks in (first examine the lid to see if there may be a subtle change/chip in one of the points).
