I'm assuming you mean just the knob, and not the shaft behind it, if it's a D shaped shaft, a slip of paper in the knob will tighten it up, if it's knurled and round shaft, spread the split in the middle open slightly until the knob is tight

you'll have to seperate the ground from the shield and then attach the rx,tx,and ground ,the shild then the ground thats on the shield.

could be in your finalwhere the problem exists.Try flexing your board by pushing down in the center to see if any noise comes through.

18 ft. you shouldn't have to worry because a 102 is carring a good match anyway.Make sure you use the good stuff and its not the skinny coax.

did you check to see if it was still plugged in.maybe the reverse polarity diode or a crack in the pcb

hows the SWR ?the ground? the antenna itself? on the inside check the final.

don't use the amp you are drawing to much power for it and thats why the cord is getting hot.

Where are you located and what is the problem?

That's mod needs to be done by a radio shop. Try to find a decent on. Not just any cb shop. They shouldn't charge any more than $25 for that mod. We are in TX.

mic may be wired wrong, be wrong impedance for this radio
