i'm not quite sure what the STP security light is but on my iron a security light comes on when the iron is idle. It shuts the power to the iron when no movement has happened mine is about 5 mins.

If there is water pouring from the bottom, chances are the element or sole plate are not heating the water to turn it into steam.

descaling is down with white vinguar.

IF its a ceramic non stick plate then the best way is to just to apply washing up liquid on a soft sponge to get dirt off. If the dirt is heavier try bicarbonate of soda and some lemon juice.
This works both with ceramic/non stick plates and stainless steel plates.

element is shot,take it back or send it back for repair

Per the owner manual, you shake the iron to "wake it back up".

The safety cycle initiates after it sits over 8 minutes on it's heel, or on it's sole plate or it's side side for more than 30 seconds. The light shoul dbe blinking when it is in the safety mode.

If you can't wake it up, then return it if it is still under new warranty.

Do you use any additive to the water when you iron?
Do you empty the water out after use ?
Brown steam / water suggests foul water, or rust due to dirty water pipes on Iron.

With regards to 'not working' - do you have any lights on, or is it dead.
(I had one of these, the mains lead within the flex holder had broken - design flaw) - managed to repair.

you have to open your iron to see what wires are disconnected or loose

check for loose wires

Hi mariana,

On the iron warm, use washing utensil vim powder, pour on a piece of cloth rub on the stains mark. It's will work well to clear off stains marks.

WHAT I THINK YOU SHOULD DO IS BRING BACK THE IRON TO THE SHOP WERE YOU BOUGHT IT WITH THE RECIEPT I RECKON THE GUARANTEE WOULD NOT COVER THIS YOU MAY HAVE TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR.
