Web Camera's have to be setup on the program they are to be used with. Just installing the camera on your computer does not set it up to broadcast on messengers or Skype.

Each program has Options that have to be setup in order for the Audio and Video to function properly.

A. Skype Setup:
After downloading and installing Skype

Try connecting to another USB port preferably to the back of pc not through any hub. Uninstall and then reinstall camera driver carefully following procedure in the accompanying manual.

I believe that you used an program from that disk whom now is trying to over take all the signals from the camera
I bet you didnt uninstall 'em proper..and just delete 'em from where you find...so ..in this case...which I have met before with a program that allowed a minidv to work like a webcam ...I dont remember the name ...and the only thing that worked..it was to reinstal the operating system ...just save the files in the other partitions..and reinstall the OS and format the C partition during ..after that instal only the driver for the suitable os you will use...and it will work ...

Have you tried logging onto the website from the manufacturer and dowloading the driver ??

Normal 0 There are a number of things that can cause the camera to freeze up the computer.
First I’d check to see how much memory is installed in the computer. It takes additional memory to operate the camera.

some pc cams can be used on mac but not always recommended
you can try it but personally i would give it to a friend

In the device Properties dialog box, click the Driver tab, and then click Update Driver to start the Hardware Update Wizard. Follow the instructions to update the driver see if this helps

if that does'nt help you can do a winupdate
before you try to reinstall make sure its removed from add remove in control panel
unplug the cam restart pc and run software don't plug in cam until instructed
if you still have a prob then

if you have software run it then when your down

update the driver for the cam in device manager.
Depending on how old the cam is
if you can make it compatible

yeah cameras need to be setup for each messenging service
so i'm glad you solved it

i guess this model does not have a microphone hence no audio....!!!
