Does anyone know how to set a Brother sewing

Stitch length on 2.5 and stitch width on zero, and just loosen the top tension by a half number if you want the tension looser. If your machine has a stitch selector knob, make sure it is set to the straight stitch setting.

I lost the manual. The corrrect way to thread

First of all, here is the direct link to the ONLINE USER'S MANUAL for that model:

http://www.brother-usa.com/ModelDocuments/Consumer/Users%20Manual/UM_XL_2600i_ENES_1478.PDF

To view the Owner's Manual with Operating Instructions just use your mouse to click on the link, which is the underlined and highlighted text just above. This will open a new web browser page automatically for you and allow you to view the information at the website indicated and the contents of the Owner's Manual.

You may need ADOBE READER installed on your computer to read PDF documents.
You can download this free at WWW.ADOBE.COM if necessary.
Click on the DOWNLOAD ADOBE READER button on right side of the ADOBE home page when you get there, then follow the onscreen instructions to install the software on your computer.

See page 26 of the manual for detailed instructions and illustrations on how to prperly thread the machine.

Please comment back here to this page if you have any details to add, have any questions, have difficulty accessing the links, or just require further general assistance and I will respond as soon as I see it.

I hope that was helpful to you, good luck and take care.

Joe.

Using a universal pleating foot, starts out fine

Sounds like the needle is hitting the moving part of the pleater once you get going, getting bent then striking the needle plate too.

Its not going to do the machine any good if you keep striking it with the needle as you'll end up putting the timing out.

As the pleater is a generic type it is probably best to stop trying to use it on your machine.

My sewing machine is like

Is the thread jammed around the bobbin area? Open up the bobbin cover and check it all out, clean out any jammed or broken threads and rethread the machine.

The other thing to check is that the clucth in the side wheel is engaged. If you disengage the clutch to wind a bobbin, ensure that you engage it again to start sewing.

Hope this helps, otherwise it might be serviceman time.

How do I get the

You just bring the thread around in back of the take up lever (it is a hook) that you have raised up all of the the way. Make sure that you have your presser foot up when you thread your machine.

What does the blind stitch

If you mean a blind hem foot, you can go to www.brother-usa.com and look at their accessory catalog. It is just a presser foot that has an adjustable screw to set for an edge guide. You don't have to have a Brother any low shank blind hem foot will fit. You can order from them, 1-877-276-8437 or any online sewing machine parts place, ie. www.sewingpartsonline.com.

I have the Brother 2600i

I would put my tension at 3, length at 2 and 3-5 for width. Make sure that your machine is actually on the blind hem stitch pattern, If this does not work, call Brother at 1-877-276-8437 and have them tell you where to take it, if they cannot guide you through it. I hope that you are under warranty, or that you can return it, if there is a mechanical problem.

Please let me know what do you do to reverse

Get a copy of your free owners manual, at www.brother-usa.com under support for home sewing. You have a lever that reverses the machine. Save the owners manual on your computer and enlarge the diagrams for easy viewing.
