Hi, try going thru every channel in manual and see if any of them 'stay on'? Next, make sure that you haven't pushed the 'Priority' as that will go to that channel every second or two. Next, increase the squelch a bit so that you don't get a sudden burst of noise. and last but not least, keep this away from a wired Ethernet cable- putting mine by a CAT5 cable causes it to stop on two VHF channels. The ratio for reflected power is 1:10, if your radio have 10watt fwd power then 1 swr is ok. its better if you tuned your antenna according to frequency chart which you are using. see the antenna cable for any damage, use low loss cable, also change the mic.
Failing either test is odd. Is mini 8 coax RG 8x? I assume it is, so your readings do not make sense. My first suggestion is to test with another piece of coax. If it tests fine, check your connectors! If it is still bad, you may have a rare piece of bad coax. It happens, just not often. Please post your results. Jack
