CD stuck

Restart the computer, and press and hold the "C" key as soon as you hear the startup chime. The CD is most likely not a system disk, so if the CD mechanism is functioning properly, it will be ejected. Note: this works on older Macs. In newer systems, it may be ignored. If this doesn't work, get a medium to large - size paper clip, and straighten out one bend. At the left end of the slot, there is an emergency eject actuator about 1/4"-1/2" inside the CD drive. Push the end of the paper clip wire straight in at this point. You will feel some resistance at first, then the eject mechanism should start to move and the disk will appear. Unless there is some odd problem with the disk (e. g. an adhesive label coming loose and hanging up in the drive, I'd be suspicious that the optical drive has a problem and should be replaced.

Overprinting quark xpress demo on all documents

Enter a valid product key. If Quark Xpress doesn't nag you for the key with an automatic dialog box, you will probably find the registration info entry in Preferences. If you have already entered the key, something corrupted the key file, so try entering it again.

Want to delete all messages

To delete all (or some) email messages, open your email page Inbox Select first message, then hold down the Shift key and select last visible message That highlights all messages on the page Press Delete key, [or Right click on mouse and select Delete] You can Select ALL messages by scolling down to the last message and Shift+select, but if you have 1000's, it will take so long you wonder if your computer is doing anything. To select all but a few, you can click on those using Ctrl+Select after you have selected all.

Apparently I somehow mis-represented my case. My problem is with my "Macbook" laptop and not with a phone.

Try running the free optimizer Onyx http://www.titanium.free.fr/ Uninstall any applications you no longer use with the free AppCleaner http://www.freemacsoft.net/appcleaner/ And open "Console" (Applications/Utilities/Console) to see if there are any errors in there that might be bogging down the system. Lastly, you may have a hard drive that's dying. If your system is 5 years old or older you should plan to replace the drive soon.
