Sirius Starmate ST2 Satellite Radio Receiver - Page 3 Questions & Answers
No power
You blew a fuse in the car plug. Unscrew the top of the car charger and you will find a fuse inside. You can get replacement fuses at a hardware store or Radioshack.
Noise Feedback in car.
Your picking up electronic engine noise. Is this an older car or new car? If it's an older car it may just need servicing. Due you have electronic fuel injection? When was the last time your plug wires or your rotor and cap been replaced?
Here is a simple test when it's pitch dark out. Open your hood and start up the engine. Look for electrical sparks or blue colored electrical current near and around any spark plug wires.
Do not touch the wires or it will knock you on your ***!

Try replacing the antenna with a new one. There could be something going on with the wiring in there.
Are starmate 2 radios able to be wireless
as long as the used one is not actually a refurbished on.e The original ST2 has a stronger modualtor, so transmits very well. This modulator has since been ruled in violation of FCC regs, but unless there is an FCC cop, you should still be ok.
Starmate 2 power jack
If you go to anyplace that sell's Sirius radios. Like best buy they should be able to fix it for you.

Three months ago I had the same problem. My wife paid over $300 for the
radio, the portable boom-box and subscription less than 2 years ago.
Sirius
offered no help or discount on a new radio. Guess they follow the
Microsoft doctrine because they suggested I upgrade to a new radio.
Anyhow,
feeling frustrated, I took the receiver apart, thinking that a stray
voltage on an IC ping maybe causing the problem. It was only a guess.
I don't even have a wiring diagram At any rate, once I had it apart,
I used a small flathead screw driver and drug it (lightly) across all
IC pins, possibly in an effort to drain the voltage. Please do this in
a low static area.
When I put everything back together, the
receiver worked. It's been working good the up until about 2 weeks ago,
when the same problem began again. I just finished the same process
and the receiver is working again.
I don't advocate this for anyone who doesn't know how to handle electronics.
I'm just very disappointed in Sirius for not admitting the problem and providing no discount for a newer model. I have a $10 clock radio that's 9 years old. Guess what, I don't have to take it apart every three months to keep it working.

The wire is soldered to the board after going through the white insulation inside the connector barrel. After opening the unit, place the solder iron in the hole provided where the barrel is attached to the board. Push the broken piece out using a piece of 18AWG bare solid wire. This is a little tricky... make sure you don't damage other components on the board while pushing the old piece out. Then use the same 18AWG wire for the repair. Push it though from the outside of the barrel. Use the small lower opening to get the solder in place. Leave some space to move it back further when you solder into place. Then cut the wire flush with the outside of the barrel. Warm the solder again, and pushed the wire back in a little so it is recessed in the barrel. Let the solder get hard, and that's it... Works perfect. Should take 5-10 minutes.
Opening the unit
use a small/jewelers flat head screw driver to separate the silver cover from the rest of it. the rubber buttons will fall out, thats ok. the black backing will not come loose from the actual circuit boards because the FM transmitter antenna is fixed in place under some melted tabs, and then soldered to the board next to the power button. Its usually easiest to unsolder it to get the back off for doing repairs.
Sirius Starmate Power
I have the same problem. It happens even more with a generic universal power cord instead of the Sirius brand one.
ST2 12V power input problems
I have had the same problem, the actual power jack has come unsoldered from the board this has happened to me 3 times all I did was buy a cheap soldering iron and opened up unit and resoldered this should fix the problem
I have a Sirius Starmate ST2. It's stuck on 0% updating. Any suggestions? Antenna placement a d connection seems fine
Hard Reset:
Sometimes a hard reset can help. You can do this by pulling the fuse related to the Sirius system, letting it sit for a couple of minutes, and then putting it back in. Afterward, start the car, perform the Sync maintenance update, shut the car off, and then turn it back on.
If you're unsure about which fuse to pull, consult your vehicle's manual or seek professional assistance. But thee following may help. Behind the glovebox. There's 2 15amp fuses on the top-righthand side. It'll be the left one of those two.
Refresh the Signal:
Visit the SiriusXM signal refresh page and follow the instructions to refresh your SiriusXM signal. Note that you may need to select a specific channel during this process, but if the system is stuck, this might be challenging..
Check for Memory Leaks:
After disconnecting the battery, you mentioned that radio stations displayed their real frequency instead of "403" or incorrect frequencies. This suggests that there might be memory leaks in the Windows CE and Entertainment applications. Keep an eye on this behavior and consider reporting it to SiriusXM or seeking further technical support.
Remember that these steps are general troubleshooting suggestions,
HOW DO I FIND OUT WHAT SIRIUS XM ACCOUNT I AM BEING CHARGED FOR?
First look on your credit card statement. If that doesn’t help then get the ID from your Sirius device and compare to statement. Lastly call them with the ID. If you have multiple Devices, then any device that can receive channels is being billed somewhere....
