power protector should be a button near the rear where the AC cord connects through the casing

Make sure that your wires are connected correctly.

This indicates that you have a blown output amplifier or shorted speaker wire. Disconnect all the speaker wires and try to turn it on once more. If it shows the same display give it to a service center for repair.

There are rare occassions where a power cyle/reset can clear a protect condition, but this is extremely rare. Please see the link below for and explanation of protect mode. Feeel free to post any additional questions you may have here.

Make sure that you hook up the Video input to your tv in the right slot and to your DAV-HDX500 (Vise versa). If you have a hard time for some connections you may view the link below to have an idea.

for your sugestion i think the problem is from your optical head can read the dvd, maybe your optical head is too old and need to change
or the mchanic can't place the optical head to the place properly that make the optical head did not read your dvd disk

try to check it, or change the optical head with new one

Unhook all speakers to the unit and then turn it on...see if the problem goes away. If it does, then one of the speakers may be damaged...If not, then the amplifier circuitry has some sort of problem, possibly the output transistors/IC's are defective...If it is the latter you will need a technician to troubleshoot the amplifier to find out what the extent of damage is

Check all the connections and read the User Manual

your door may be off track. to fix it make sure it has no power going to it take the top off and place it back in track

What's different? The video connection type, maybe? If you're using Component cables (Red, Green, Blue) you might want to check their integrity.

Hi Im a Dvd Tech for sony, your problem is a common one,. c 031 failure is quite common and is caused by a weak pickup assy. after changing your setting it just turns up the power and causes the already weak pickup to fail.
a new pick-up assy cost about 55 dollars and labour is about 50 dollars to install it ..Not really cost effective to repair...todays DVD players do so much more than the 360. i will say by a new one,but the choice is yours,do what suits you best.

Connect the PS3 to your TV with the hdmi cable and to the surround sound system with a digital optical cable, then set your PS3 to output sound through the optical port (through the sound options menu) and you're good to go!

Get some single strand wire 18 or 20 gage about 5 feet. Strip about 3/8 of an inch of insulation from one end and put that end into the plug. Thats all you need.
