EEPROM on Panasonic PT-52LCX65-K
Hi,
Are there any Red, Green or Blue Spots on the Screen?
If yes, There is corrupt data in the EEPROM circuit of the TV. Panasonic
is aware of this problem and you may be able to get the repair fixed under warranty. The fix is to use a special EEPROM reset tool , but requires disassembling the TV and should be performed by an authorized repair technician.
What I would suggest is to call Panasonic at 1-800-211-PANA (7262) and inquire about the warranty for this repair. The last one of these I had in my repair store, Panasonic paid me for the repair and sent me the tool to perform the EEPROM reset. The customer didn't have to pay anything. If you have trouble getting anywhere at Panasonic's phone number, then I would suggest calling a local repair shop and tell them you are aware of EEPROM corruption problem on his model and that Panasonic has been known to pay the servicer for repairing the TV. The servicer may need to contact Panasonic directly to set up a case # to obtain the EEPROM reset tool.
Let me know,if needed further assistance.
Hope i helped you.
Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

Split screen
Yes I get the same problem with my Sony XBR and its Pace PVR.
The problem seems related to using HDMI interconnects; viewing the PVR through component leads allows the TV to switch modes easily, otherwise I have to turn the tv off and then back on again.

After the notation appearing on the television,
when the notation comes up , you usally only have hours of life left. the slightest **** or movement of the lamp could cause it to go out. I would really start looking for a new one quickly

My Panasonic PT-52LCX66 worked for about a week
Three orange power blinks indicates a 'Malfunction 5', and that your unit requires servicing. You can try pressing POWER on the unit for over 7 seconds, and then turning the set back on after 5 more seconds. If this doesn't help the set needs servicing.
If you didn't reset the lamp timer after replacing it, you might try that by
following these steps.
If you think browsing the troubleshooting section of your operating manual may help, you can
access it here.
I hope that helps.

How do I reset the metter for a new lamp?
According to the lamp manual you just need to power the set on with the remote and then press (and hold) the Vol - button on the front of the set, While holding the Vol- button on the front of the set press and hold the PIP button on the remote. HOLD both for more than 5 seconds or until the lamp timer has been reset to 0 appears on the screen.
