Canon CanoScan LiDE 600F Flatbed Scanner - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
Light stripe on scans
Possible causes, CCD failure, smudges or marks that can only be picked up by the CCD if the underside of the scanner glass is dirty. Uninstalling/reinstalling your scanner driver will eliminate if its software related or not. From the looks of it, could be with the CCD if the lines are in the same area with every scan attempted.
When plugged in via usb,
Hi
The scanner is not able to find the home position to start.
Hence open the scanner and check to make sure the scanner assy. is moving to the end and when it senses the home position it will try to move a little away from it and then return back. But if the sensor is dirty or broken it will make a loud noise like belt slipping.
Try to find the sensor on back of the Tube assy. and try to fix it.

Usually if the key button is not locked, but the system still shows the error-lock button, there is a problem between the operating system and your scanner.
do troubleshooting process by installing a scanner to computer system that 100% clean of virus activity and damage to the operating system then do the scanning work.

Unable to set TWAIN capabilities. When I try to
Unfortunately solving the problem might come down to reinstalling windows to the computer entirely. I think it would be best for you to keep using the program where it works.
I'dd suggest that you back up all your files etc, to a external hard drive, and then use the recovery disc that came with your computer to reinstall it to the state it used to be when purchased. or use a windows installation cd.
Then install the scanner back and it should work fine.
Not enough space on target disc
If you are scanning in color choose JPG option as the file size is small. Delete unwanted files in the target location and create space.

Can I scan slides with Canoscan LiDE600F
Yep, The Canoscan LiDE600F is capable of scanning slides, however it is not possible to scan them in their mounts. If you dismount the slide, you can scan them using the film strip holder. This is not an elegant solution and you would have to remount your slides to use them as originally intended.
LiDE 600DF - Unable to scan
I think I might have solved my own problem, at least for the time being. If my theory is correct, then it might be a permanent solution.
I had been goint through the "CanoScan Toolbox 5" configuration line by line to see if anything would suggest a solution when I noticed that the "Folder for where temporary files are stored" had an enormously long path of C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Canon\TB50\...... By the time the temporary filename is added to the end, it may have exceeded the permissible length the system can handle. So I changed it to C:\Temp and it all started to work for me.
Worth a try for my fellow sufferers.

Issue: ERROR: Insufficient space on target disk
Solution: Change where temporary files are saved (Toolbox)
Change where temporary files are saved (Toolbox)
For an unknown reason, the computer is not allowing temporary data to be written to the general folder chosen by Toolbox at the time of install.
-
From the CanoScan Toolbox, click the Settings button.
-
At the bottom you will see a section that states, "Select Folder Where Temporary Files are Saved:".
Click the Browse button.
-
Browse to a folder, such as C:\Temp, and then click OK.
-
Click OK again to exit the Settings window.
-
Try scanning again.
Needs canoscan drivers
Drivers are specific to the operating system (ie drivers for Windows XP may or may not work with Vista). Click on the link below and you will be navigated to the Canon driver download page.
