I need your help to get my remote control to operate my DVD recorder/VCR combo. I was in the setup menu and accidentially set the remote control to "RC2" and now the remote isn't working at all. Do you have any suggestions? Would greatly appreciate some.
Your DMR is telling you that it is set to listen for RC2 but your remote is transmitting RC1.
Two choices for a fix:
1. Put the remote back into RC2 mode by simply holding both the ENTER and 2 button for at least 5 seconds.
OR
2. Reconfigure the DMR to listen for RC1 by going into the function menus and selecting SETUP. Look for the remote control option. Change it to 1, it will currently display the value 2.
Enjoy.

When powering up, the DVD Recorder keeps getting stuck at "HELLO", have you ever heard about this before?
Try going through the menu, and locate update system, do that then when its finished cancel the auto look for updates.

I have a panasonic dvd recorder DMR-EZ48V. When you switch on the recorder it reads (LD FVU) and the tray opens automaticly asking to insert disc. When i put disc in it trys to read it, but it cant and reads (NO FVU) then it just spits the disc back out.
You need to install or update the Firmware. Go to www.panasonic.ca and search your model. You will then need to download the firmware for your player and burn it/mount it as an ISO file on to cd. Just follow the instructions and you'll be up and running in no time.
It took me about 25min, but it is working fine now.

This is the second time this message has come up. The first time it was repaired inder warranty. Ironically, it expired in March. the machine makes a grinding sound then the DVD door opens. The screen says that the unit is shutting down. Whether I unplug it or just turn it on and off, the same thing occurs.
Replace it, it is not cost wise to have it repaired.

I am getting a U99 error code on my Panasonic DVD Recorder (model DMR-EZ47V).
The only function that is working is the TV ...on one channel.
The remote will not even change the channels.
Any idea how to correct this?
The "U99" error code signifies a "general communications failure."
It is not associated with one specific problem.
It can be related to the version of firmware your DVD recorder is currently using and it has been associated with the TV Guide on screen guide.
If your unit displays U99, turn the power off-unplug the
unit for 5 minutes, and reconnect the power.
If U99 reoccurs, please contact the Global Service Center Network for assistance.

the dvd will not open at all either
Clearly a problem with the mechanism or something in it that is not allowing the door to open. It is possible the mechanism is jammed in some way --some object got inside that does not belong there or a mechanical part is broken or out of position.
Someone would have to open the unit and examine it.

Disk will not read
Either a dirty or a bad optical pickup in the DVD unit--one or the other.

Got any idea what is wrong with the machine
Unfortunately, the F60 error means that the video processing board (digital PCB board with the HDMI port on it) has a failure. Often this happens when the capacitors on the board fail. Replacing the board or the failed components on the board is usually necessary. Some of the components may be available here: https://www.encompassparts.com/model/MSCDMREZ47V/_/_/Panasonic/DMREZ47V/DVD_RECORDER .
First you can try to reset the unit. Unplug it. Then plug it in after a few minutes. Then when you see the string of 0's, press and hold the power button. Then try to power up the unit normally. Alternatively, press and hold Stop and Hold while you power on the DMR-EZ47V.
I hope this helps. Unfortunately, I am not sure which part number applies to the part you need from the PC Boards available from the site above.
