What steps do i take too program frequences
with the scanner on, push the "man" (manual) button. If the scanner was scanning it should stop on one channel . Push the up or down arrow key until you get to the channel you want to program. You can also use the keyboard for direct access to a particular channel i.e. push "1" "4" "9" and "man" to jump to channel 149.
Once on the channel you want to program, push "prog" (program) then the frequency you want in that channel, including the decimal point. Push "ent"(enter). Your desired frequency should be displayed. Don't forget the "." (decimal point) or the scanner will tell you "error". Move to your next hannel to be programmed and repeat. If you put in a frequency outside of the radio's capability, you wil get an error message.
To find frequencies, look on the internet. The best site I have found is

Extremely low volume
Sounds like the amplifier of the audio section is out. I am guessing it is out of warranty, otherwise you can return it for repair. Other than having it repaired at Radio shack or another electronic repair place, the cheapest solution is to buy an amplified speaker and try it in the first the external speaker jack on the rear or the head phone jack in front. In effect, you are bypassing the damaged section and amplifying the audio you do have.
I need a program guide.
Go to radio shack site. There is probably a manual you can download if you search the site. The catalog number for the scanner is 20-427. you can search by that number if the model number does not work.
Does anyone know how to put a barrel pin jack in a radio shack pro 2034 police scanner thanks
To install a barrel pin jack in a RadioShack Pro-2034 police scanner, you will need to follow these steps:
- Locate the appropriate input/output port on the back of the scanner. This is typically a 3.5mm or 1/8-inch jack.
- Gather the necessary tools and materials. You will need a small Phillips head screwdriver, a barrel pin jack, and any connecting wires or cables that are required.
- Carefully remove the back panel or cover of the scanner to access the internal components.
- Locate the input/output port on the circuit board inside the scanner.
- Carefully disconnect any existing wires or cables that are connected to the port.
- Connect the barrel pin jack to the circuit board using the appropriate wires or cables. Make sure to follow the wiring diagram or instructions provided with the jack to ensure proper connection.
- Secure the jack in place using the screws provided, or by soldering the connections if required.
- Replace the back panel or cover of the scanner and test the new barrel pin jack to ensure it is functioning correctly.
It is important to follow the manufacturer's instructions and use caution when installing any components or making modifications to your scanner. If you are unsure about any aspect of the installation process, it is recommended to seek the assistance of a qualified technician or the manufacturer.
