Hi,

This is again One of the Questions that Most of the people have. Now, as far as i have seen, only a couple of my Friends have Changed the Language, but they require Firmware changes and some other Changes and it is really Pricey. Does not make any sense to Go for kit only to change Language.

Second, though i have not seen, but i have seen someone calling Eclipse and then they changed it. Might be Regional Code or So. But, to be really honest with you, i have no answer to this. Better to Call Eclipse and then see, what could be done.

try calling www.eclipse-web.com/us, i believe they started charging for this service manual. If im not mistaking, it is $15 + $8 shipping...

on the back there is a green plug for the antenna. Make sure its snug and connected and/or you actually have an antenna connected and it must be without obstructions to read satellite signals

Have you ever tried to unplug your battery to reset your radio completly, then plugin again, turn on your ignition switch, insert map dvd real fast, turn off your ignition. Remove power again to reset it again. While its reset and your dvd map is in, just turn your ignition switch to ON (not acc) , and wait for the radio to finish update his software. This is the way to reset other eclipse avn series. Guess this fits to 2454 as well.

This unit is equipped with ESIV which is an electronic security system that is coded by any cd of the users choice. If the ESIV was on when the unit was un-installed from wherever it was, it will not work. find the units serial #, call Eclipse, IF it has Not been reported stolen, you can get the code reset by Eclipse. I think they charge for this service, however it's worth it. If there is a problem with the unit, it can be repaired by them as well. Most car deck repairs are under $ 150 unless it's really serious. that is because they are burned DVD- try an original and it will work. Burned dvd's will heat up faster and cause the laser to read through the dvd,

The only way to unlock it is with the CD that you chose as the "key". If that isn't obtainable then you will have to take it to your local Eclipse dealer.
Just make sure it isn't a stolen piece of equipment, the first hint that the local dealer gets that it might be stolen they will send it off to Eclipse...Eclipse will then be able to decide if it was stolen or not. At that point Eclipse will send the unit back to your local dealer, and your dealer will call you up saying it's ready to be picked up, you will then be greeted by the police.

what you are saying that dont make sense is your unit has a lock on it ? that the only way the radio will not work nav cd dont stop radio from working

Please have the following information before calling the Service
Department at (1-888-557-8278):
• Dealer account number {Applies to Eclipse Dealers ONLY}
• Customer First and Last name.
• Model Number.
• Serial Number
• 6 digit Security Code.
• After it says “CALL 800” on screen
• Press and hold MAP and AV buttons at the same time
• While holding MAP and AV buttons, Press the
MENU button 5 times continuously
• Screen will show up with 6 digit security code
• Enter Unlock Code by using touch screen
• After entering the unlock code press ENTER on
screen

You need version 1.3 Map Disc in order for your unit to do anything. It is a safety feature. it is not gonna work at all I have the same problem. I need 1.2 Map Disc

Im just taking a guess, but i assume you are talking about a Navigation DVD disc. Does your deck say "Check Map Disc"? they are pretty expensive they range from $200-$400. depending on the version. i have a copy of the 2008 edtion nav disc ver. 2.2 for $75 you can contact me at [email protected]
