Another solution here....I have a Kenwood KDC-x991 deck.

Have USB Read error problems..
Anyway I had a 30gb hdd, replaced it with a 100gb (according to manual, will use up to 120gb w/out external power...)
Anyways long story short, the 100gb drive worked fine for....20-25 mins...
I was happy. Now here's the clincher. After 20-25 mins, it gave the USB read error. (instead of resetting the deck and have to make the date/time/eq/sound/setting changes I unplugged the USB drive...changed source from USB to tuner (or anything else for that matter). Then switched back to USB w/ no device installed and after 2 seconds or less, the USB Error disappeard and said no USB device connected....Anyway thats the best way (I've found) to get around the Resetting the deck. Anyway after that from then on I could not get the Hard drive to work for more than 30 seconds. It would play then give me the read error.

Tried a different drive...80gb same prob...went back to the 30, and it was fine.
Tried a 160 (I knew it wasn't going to work) and it didn't either.
Anyway was thinking what to do.....most of the USB external drives I had came with a power port on it aside from the USB port plug. Or the drives came with the Y Cable....
The long part plugs into the Kenwood deck, and then the END of that cable plugs into your USB external drive, and the small piece connects to a (get this...here we gooooo FTW) USB to Cigarette adapter!!!!!
And this worked like a charm on ALL my drives. Stable...and just plain worked great!
Anyway I hope that this will help you guys w/ your usb probs!

You need to have the 4 number password to unlock it

In the AV set up screen, or one of the menu's. there is an option for "mirror" vision on rear camera settings. Make sure that is checked

'06 and up dodge rams have a CANBUS system, you have to buy an $80 adapter for it to function correctly. Just google "CANBUS adapter".

You should be able to by a new facia plate either from toyota or from someone like Autoleads

it can be fixed yes, but please use a reputable Kenwood dealer to carry out your repair

I would suggest you contact garmin for the unlock codes which you will have to purchase for your unit

First of all do you have a bluetooth kit for your head unit? if so ensure it is plugged in correctly. if it is, then you need to activate bluetooth on your phone and make it visible to other devices, once this is done search from the phone for the bluetooth on the head unit. It should read BT100 or similar. Once it has found it all you need to do is pair them normally using the code 1234.

It may be a fault wire connection inside the device. If you still have the warrant info either from Kenwood or the place you bought it, I would see if they can get it repaired.

In order to access the DNX7100's bulit in SD card slot, you have to press the CD/DVD eject button for about 5 secs. It will fold down to reveal the SD slot. This slot is only used for Software and Map updates via a SD Card.

I would suggest calling the police around the area you bought it from and see if anyone has reported their radio missing in their car. I don't buy things on Ebay "as Discribed", unless it comes from a reliable source (usually someone who has their own ebay store or warehouses). This is probably a radio that the guy broke into and stole out of someones car. Probably tried to use it and found out there was a lock code. If there has been one that has been reported as stolen within that area they will know a key code to turn it back on. Then send the police to pick up the guy and get your money back.

If the Police don't have any reports of stolen cars broken into and radios missing. I would suggest calling KenWood or checking with their site to find a way to reset this code. If you paid a lot for this product I don't see why anyone would be selling it AS IS. It sounds too Fishy for me.

the only idea i have is contacting xm asking if they can resend the traffic signal to your unit.

ground the green emergency brake wire just hook it into the radio ground and that will fix it

well need to know whats it doing... need a lil more info... is it not working period or is it doing somethings and not others or what...

did you check all fuses already?

Mine did the same thing. If it is not aligned properly this will happen. Take the kit off from around the unit. Then tell it to go to what ever screen setting you want. If it works with the kit removed this is your problem. 

you can do it on the dnx7100 as well as the dnx7120. I have had both systems. the installer needs to mess with a couple wires. the sales guy you were talking to is trying to up sell you. the only benifit I see in the dnx8120 is its bluetooth ready..

The USB source is not for Ipods, from what I understand. The Ipod needs to be connected with the Ipod cable, $50 or so. I think it is a high speed connection.

Airbag Warning Light Reset Procedure:
The reason for this is that you turned your car on with the airbag warning light for the passenger located in the vent panel above the radio disconnected. To reset it. Turn your car off. without starting the car (foot off the brake) Turn the car to the "on" position. wait for the airbag light to blink. The SECOND it goes off before it comes back on and blinks you need to hit the button again and turn the car off. wait 2-3 seconds and repeat 3 times.
