I need to know how to remove my DNX7100 from my
I have a 2004 ford escape so it may be similar, but I just pop open the front section of panel that is around the headunit and heating controls and what not with a flathead screwdriver. That should pop open really easy!! Than on the side of the dnx7100 there are locks holding it in that you can pop off to let it lose and plug the cable into the back. I have my ipod cable coming out through the glove box and works great.

No sound on ddx 514 kenwwod..when hooked up ipod to usb??
This is a faily simple fix. First of all, this USB will not be able to playback audio from an iPod or iPhone without using the correct cable. The cable needed has both USB and an audio plug on it. Here is a link to the Kenwood cable you will need:
http://www.kenwoodusa.com/Car_Entertainment/Accessories/KCA-iP200
If you would like playback of iPod video, you will need this cable:

A local authorized Kenwood stereo dealer should have these in stock. I hope this information was helpful.
E brake override
Ground the parking brake wire to any metal surface that is handy. Just as solution 2 suggests. I accidently clicked the top "Guest" as the best solution when Solution #2 was the one I meant to click on. Ground it and enjoy!
Won't read an SD card
It sounds like either your GPS plug came out of the back of the unit, or your gps does not have a clear view of the sky, or if the gps is mounted on a trunk that opens and closes a lot the wire can break inside. I dont think the software is your issue, just to make sure if you update make sure the update file is the only file on the card, if there are other files (left over pictures, etc) they can cause the unit to disreguard the whole card.
Kenwood dnx7100 in protect mode
Hi,
Your
receiver is detecting a problem in the speaker wiring and is going into
protection mode. If the receiver shuts off due to volume level, this
can be caused by a poor connection, damaged speaker, insufficient gauge
wire, or connecting multiple speakers to one speaker output. The
connections at the receiver and speaker should be clean with the ends
of the wire twisted tightly, preventing any strands from missing the
terminal. Connecting two sets of wires together to add distance should
be done with terminals and insulated to prevent the wires from touching
each other. If using thin wire, replace completely with heavier gauge
wire; do not add to the existing length. Be careful not to push the
speaker wires in too far, this will cause the speaker terminals to grip
the insulation and not the conductor. The speakers being used must have
an impedance within the range listed next to the receiver’s speaker
outputs, normally between 6? - 16?. The impedance of your speaker
should be listed behind the speaker itself.
If problems continue, disconnect the speaker wires from behind the
receiver and power the receiver on. The receiver will shut off quickly
if there is an internal short and would need to be serviced if this
happens. If it stays on, try connecting the speakers one at a time.
Replace any speaker that causes the receiver to shut off.
Thanks.
