All you should need is an antenna. If an antenna is plugged into it, you may either have a bad antenna or a bad tuner. If you can try connecting another antenna to see if it works. If you have a length of wire, you may be able to use that as a test antenna.

the pink wire is the parking brake wire... so should be hooked up to the paqrking brake...OR , you can put a switch on it to bypass the safty feature.

I am having the same problem. I sent it for repair and they said it works fine. online everyone said it might be a parking brake or grounding issue. If i find out ill post it

If you mean the circuit schematics, then you won't have much luck. That information is proprietary to Jensen and they don't make it publicly available.

the unit has programable turn on volume....go into the menu and adjust the setting so when u turn it on its volume will be at like 10 or so

CONNECT YOUR BRAKE SENSING WIRE TO THE PARKING BREAK WIRE ON THE LIL SWITCH RIGHT ON THE EMERGENCY BRAKE PEDAL

I had that problem too I'll I did was press the reset butoon on my unit and everything resetted but the bypass code, you have to reprogram your stations and the time thats it

try pressing the reset button, if that doesn't work then you will need to check your connections.

trust me that works i just installed this deck in my truck today. And no you dont have to do anything with the ebrake wire at all just cut it off. Make sure you hear the beep sound when you hit 543210 you should hear it each time.

this an old thread, but yes there is an install kit containing a plastic extension that should be available from places that sell car stereos- wal-marts, car stereo stores, etc.

To answer your question;
You do not need to connect that wire but you need to bypass the parking brake function in the menu.
Here`s the parking brake bypass procedure:
1: Go into AM/FM mode
2: Hit "setup" on the remote control
3: Enter 543210 on the remote, listening for the beep for each number entered
4: A new menu will appear. Touch the button that has the hammer/screwdriver on it in the upper left-hand part of the screen.
5: Select Brake bypass to "ON" and hit the "X" near the bottom of the screen.
6: Use the unit wisely and above all safely. A ticket is one thing, causing a fatal accident due to negligence is another.

My Guess is it Probab;y a bad sensor inside, unfortunately you may be better off purchasing a new deck than payoing for it to be repaired. But if you still have warranty time left call there customer service line and find out what the repair will cost.
