You have to allow the device to be added to the router table in the rotuer wireless list for the device to access the inter net wirelessly
here are the steps to accomplish this :
1.Log into router
2. Verify wireless router name( on the computer) >>> ( on/off)
3.Note router name you are connecting to.
4.. Check the laptop do ipconfig /all to see current IP addresses.
5. Set the laptop up in the router by WEP KEY or MAC address. This set up in the "security tab" in the router. using 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 to access through a browser.
6.Note router name you are connecting to.

8. check the status of you router / if gaming in a DMZ you could be open to any one on the internet to get into your pc.
This is for all routers to set up wirelessly. You possibly don't have the security setup on your router / also check the Windows firewall for allowable devices and port entry.

Now to check if your password keys work. Fire up your laptop and right click on the wireless icon, located on the bottom right hand corner of your task bar. Then Click VIEW AVAILABLE WIRELESS NETWORKS. If you did it right you should see your network show up with a lock stating that it is a SECURITY ENABLED WIRELESS NETWORK.
f you click on the network a WIRELESS CONNECTION PROMPT will appear.

Yes. D-LINK would be *STUPID* to try to market a router that is *NOT* compatible with *ALL* cable-modem (or DSL-modem) units.

if your router has a security key or passphrase it really will not let your Iphone conenct to it make sure you do not have security keys or passphrases on your router for your Iphone to work, Mobile devices do not have the option to inut router security keys unlike computer they can be set. you iphone will conenct after you remove your network key on the router.....

Install Router Commander, it will solve the problem. I have Dlink router and it no longe hangs. Get it from www.routercommander.com.

go in your dlinks settings it by default always set to the routers name, you computer should detect the router in an area of networks, if the update is looking for an SSID # look on the sticker on the router it should say it there

Did they have physical access or was it just wifi access.
If they had physical access it's an easy matter to reset the router back to factory settings.
Use your D-Link manual to rest it back as it was with your ISP settings.

You need to configure your router again.
Connect your router to computer with ethernet cable then you can access it with following default link.

If you are not able to access it with above ip then check your computers ip address gateway ip is your router ip try with it.
Then it ask for user name and password.
Type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or "password" or blank.
Then you can see configuration page of router.
Click on WAN settings and set those settings as your internet service provider settings.
Enable DHCP if you want to get ip from router.
Click on wireless settings enable wireless then enable WEP Security then add WEP code .It is your password to connect wi fi.Then save settings and restart router.
Then you can connect your wi fi network with that code.

Either look into getting bigger (higher gain) antennas for your router, or get bigger/stronger antennas for your PC's.

Other than repositioning the existing antennas or putting the router higher up in the air, there isn't much you can do.

Is there any computer connected to the router ?
If not then you will need to connect the computer to the router.
Do not change any wireless settings on the router with the wireless computer.
you will need to connect the computer to the router with the Ethernet cable.
check the IP address of the computer.
open the router set up page of the router.
Here you can change the wireless settings of the router.
Now once you change the network anme and security on the router, you will need to connect to the wireless network on your wireless computers.

The main computer has the security key. You have to get it from whoever runs the main computer that provides your wireless service.
