It's likely the groud connection in the cable is broken. Possibly at the plug, it would mean no centre focus and no bass as the headphones get only out of phase sounds. I'm guessing you've tried them in another device - a faulty sockey would do the same.

This confirms that the wire is open on the inside and so the only job out for you to to have a close SURGERY to be done to rectify .
You must dissect the wire to see the inside layers, now as you tug the free state of the wire will confirm the position of the wire break. Cut and **** the wire sleeve to see the strands where it has come off, use a good soldering iron to solder after cleaning of the wires. Insulate the joints properly with tight taping and bind them together so that the fault will not recur.

There is a poor connection in the headphones, they are not really designed to be repaired, but you have nothing to lose by trying as they may end up in the bin either way. Not what you wanted to hear sorry.

Contact sennheiser. You may need to have it replaced. The problem is with your audio jack.

had the same problem with the right ear bud and I don't know if it is suggested in the manual, but cleaning the mesh on the ear bud with a cotton stick dipped lightly in alcohol (almost dry) helped with me, the sound is back 100%.

This is normal. The company designs them so that the cord hangs down one side to your music player/radio, etc. If you look at the headphones, there is an "L" and an "R" on each earpiece, put them in the correct ear and you've got them on correctly for proper stereo sound.

Again, the reason one cord is longer than the other is to allow for the cord to hang down one side to your player. Sony and many other 3rd party earphone makers also have similar designs, while there are some that still use the center cord and equal length ear piece cords.

I have been having the same problem for the past week, I have just fixed it, reading your post gave me the idea to clean them and it actually worked

What i did was to "heat them up" with a hair dryer so that any wax from my ear that had gotten inside would "melt", then I cleaned them with alcohol and a q-tip and I made sure I let a bit of alcohol to get inside the ear bud, then I dryed it with the hair dryer again very carefully and tested to see the results and WHALA works just fine

You might want to try using a different size of the earpieces that come with it, and make sure they're inserted fully into your ear. They come with three different size earpieces because people's ears are shaped differently, and having the right size can make a HUGE difference in the sound. If it's done right, it should basically feel like you've just inserted an earplug into your ear.

If that doesn't help, and you've tried another pair of headphones to verify that it's not a problem with your sound source, I would guess you were unlucky enough to get a defective pair.
