solved with glue and screw!just to make sure: ccctierney
was probably speaking about a trs 1/4' connector, not an xlr one - xlr
connectors don't really have any kind of tip that could separate, do
they?
anyway, i bought a new zoom h4n and after my first recording the tip of a 1/4' trs "jack" connector kept stuck inside one of the "combo" sockets, making me really unhappy.
after several hours of attempts to put it out with all kinds of nails, needles, pliers, scissors etc, i finally succeeded: i found a screw (wood spin) of appropriate size, dipped its tip into a drop of quick setting two-part epoxy glue (the one i used is sold under the name "furtopur" in my country - czech rep., i'm pretty sure something similar you can get anywhere), wrapped the screw into a piece of paper to protect the connector from being glued, put it inside and had a coffee to let the glue harden. after pulling then, here we go, the tip was out, see the photo!
