Most likely the problem is
" or something" .
I'm sure you know Windows Vista has issues with many things, even if the Recorder's software claims compatibility.
I know, that does not help at all, but there is a way around the issue.
Crude? Pehaps. Effective? Absolutely!
I use a patch cable between the AUDIO IN on my PC and the EAR on the recorder.
Since the ouput of the recorder is monoaural, all you need is a mono (2 wire) lenght of cable with a standard 3mm plug at each end. I made it myself, but I guess Radio Shack may have somethinng like that.
If they don't have it, then a STEREO cable (3 wires) will work just fine.
To record the sound I use
Audacity. It's a freebie and pretty straightforward to use.
After you've plugged it in, all you need to do is start
Audacity and then playback the files from your recorder.
Then you can convert them to MP3 or whatever.
Feel free to drop me an email if I can be of more help.
