the electronic sensor eyes being off are the most common cause of this.
They need to be pointed at each other so they can "see" each other.
Commonly, the units have a light on them that will illuminate when they can see the other half of the unit on the the other side.
Also check the terminals that the sensors connect to, and make sure that they are connected.

Hi, Its sound like your compressor is not turned on. Make sure your compressor is plug in, and the (on and off) switch is turned on. Check the pressure gage to see what psi you have. You need at lease 90psi. If you don't have that much pressure, There should be an adjusting knob below the gage. Turn the knob until you get the proper psi.
If this doesn’t work for you, please write back. Thanks,
Measuring Accuracy Problem
Use a second measuring tool and compare the results, or you can measure a known size or length (floor tiles for example)and check the reading you get.
Big cliff height measurment?
You could do a bit of research as i can't remember the math's from my college days, but, it is possible to calculate the distance something travels by using its rate of descent against the time it takes to reach the ground, for instance, if gravity is measured at 9.81N/m per sec squared, then an object must speed up at the same rate from standstil every time unless the earths gravitational pull changed. If you then timed how long it takes to hit the ground you could do a simple calculation offsetting the rate of descent against time which would then give your distance. The calculation is - distance = speed x time, but you would need to factor in the the rate of change in the speed of the object from standstill to finish which is the bit i can't remember.
Measuring Tool to Short
You have acouple of options
You can buy a measuring tool that doesn't have a size limit or has a very high size limit, you can check around to find one that will suit your needs.
You can measure the till the end of you measuring tool, mark the spot where it ends, and make another measuerment from that spot.
Another option is to take a long piece of string, and run it between the two points you want to measure, Cut the rope exactly between the two points, and later you can measure it, section by section, this is a lot of work!
I'm sure that these aren't all the possible methods, I think that folks around here might add a few.
Good luck
