If the motor does not turn hot its is good news. Then try to clean the contact brushes that provide power to the motor, making sure the device is UNPLUGED from the electric supply.If that works, it is confirmation it is a brush issue. If so, consider replacing the brushes wich are unexpensive

switch only the wires thats fitting now on the carbon brushes on each other, and its done .

check brush length m ost likely a burnt armature take it in to an appliance repair shop for a proper diagnosis and quote

Is this the motor start capacitor you are installing?

Just figured it out ourselves: with case open and facing you, place the saw in, blade facing you. It needs to go down at an angle so the "leveler" is resting on the tlted portion of the case. Make sure the cord isn't hanging out.......took us about 1/2 hour to do it. Ours was a dewalt 368; next time we'll take a pic before taking tools out of their cases! hope this helps.

This clamp design is not going to win any engineering awards for sure. These are very susceptible to getting packed with junk and if you disassemble, clean, lubricate it with Silicone spray and reassemble it should help tremendously. (Don't use WD40 or oil as these will attract and hold dirt and dust compounding your problem) If it still hangs up I would replace the actuating lever - they tend to get bent / gouged and don't move the clamp all the way open. Lastly, it there is a lot of side to side play in the shaft itself that could be the issue because the lever can't mover the clamp all the way. (If this is the case you will find it cheaper to purchase a new one than repair this one)

Not for shure but it could be that this is the coil where the capacitor must be on connect to start up the motor.
