I have a SecuraLift Garage

Many of these devices use a code that changes each time the door is opened and closed. This feature is used to keep potential bad people from learning your operational code and entering your garage. You may have a communication problem whereby the Garage Opener needs to be reset. You may try to change the settings. If you have dip switches on the main unit in the garage, change the dip switches to another setting and write down the numbers in the order that you have the set them, Then go to the remotes, hand held and hardware placed on the outside door, and change the settings on these devices to MATCH up with the inside unit. This is a good time to REPLACE the batteries also.

My wife paired her Acura

unpair it as there is another signal in your area on the same frequency. some frequencies can travel over a hundred meters or more. if you use a frequency monitor you will find there will be a lot of signals in your area. the original system will drown these out looking for its signal but pairing a device that has a different frequency or frequencies this can cause randone read. and will work on frequencies in this range can even be a freezer turning on etc. as every device make a signal.

Garage door gos down and hits the floor and reverses back up. There is also a green light on one sensor and a yellow light on the other sensor. What would be the problem.

I know sometimes if the sun is shining towardso the sensor it will start to go up before hitting the floor but this soundshould like you may have a misaligned sensor or one of them going out but this doesn't explain why it hits the floor first so my answer to you is that the travel distance setting on the motor is not set right it thinks it's hitting something besides the floor the settings for the door travel distance should be on the back of the box that contains the motor I'm sure this is what is causing your problems

My Chamberlain 1/2 HP will occasionally only open the door half way, forcing me to manually open and close the door. But then it will suddenly begin working again all on it's own. What can I do abou

most likely there is a safety overload switch that will stop if the rollers on the track ( the steel that the door rolls in) is dry and needs to be greased so it can roll in the tracks freely also check the chain for the same, the chain drive should be free of any junk stuck on it ,the chain should not be to tight or twisted in any way, if it seems to be leaning one way or the other twist it straight with a pair of pliers also be sure its power source is not share with any other appliance. let me know of your progress.

My garage door starts going

take some toilet paper, or some very light rag and dust the RPM sensor over, under, inbetween and in every spot on that darn thing, and bingo, it will work. Its the plastic ribed piece mounted on the end of the motor under opener cover. If something gets under door as door starts to go down, the RPM`s will slow and thats a warning to stop and go back up. With it being dusty, it can`t sense the RPM`s properly and goes into an alarm every single time. Ugg

Broken electric eye on garage door opener. How to

The eyes do not stop the door from opening - They only work on the close cycle.

If the door will not open at all it may have a broken spring. Try unhooking the door from the opener.

If it works manually try the opener with the door unhooked.

NOTE: holding down the wall button overrides the safety eyes. This is the only bypass available (you need to get a new eye to replace the broken one.

Hope this helps

My garage door opener beeps

Hello,
Sounds to me like your backup batteries are low. The back up batteries are there for use should you use power. You can try this -
  1. Unplug the garage door opener.
  2. Get into the back up battery compartment.
  3. Now unplug the connector to the battery pack and replug it in. This might help but if you continue to have this beeping then you will have to replace the backup batteries. You will not suffer any mechanical problems unless your electricity goes out.
Regards, Tony

I installed a new garage

Hi Diane.... yes. Newer garage door openers don't have changeable codes inside the unit or transmitters. You use the learn button to erase all the memory & to program transmitters into the unit. Each transmitter has a unique signal permanently set at the factory.
If you have had your garage door opener for a few years, you have to make a change on the back of the motor unit up by the ceiling and in the remote[s] by changing one or more tiny switches, called dip switches. Open up the remote and and take a look. If you have the dip switches, a series of tiny rocker switches that can rock one way or the other, then just change one or more of them to the opposite side and do the same with the set of dip switches on the back of the motor in the garage that moves the door.

If you have a newer system, one with no dip switches, you will just erase the memory and reprogram it with a new memory. To do that:

Programming Steps: 1) Locate the smart button on the motor head which is directly under the screw terminals where the push button and photo-cell wires connect to the unit and above the antenna wire. You may have to remove a lens or light cover to gain access to the learn button. 2) Push the smart button momentarily (Holding the smart button until the L.E.D. light beside the button goes out will erase all transmitter and keyless entries that are programmed into the unit) and verify the
L.E.D. light next to the button is lit solid. 3) Push the transmitter button that you want to use for that door within thirty seconds and before the
L.E.D. goes out. The L.E.D. will flash once and the transmitter will operate the door the next time the button is pushed. 4) If you have more than one door and a multi-button transmitter repeat steps 2-3 above for each door by using a different transmitter button for each unit. (Using the same button for more then one door at the same location will cause all the doors using that button to open and close at the same time and is not recommended.) The openers normally come with a single or a 3-button transmitter but 2-button and
4-button transmitters are also available as an option. 5) Repeat steps 2-3 above if you have more than one transmitter to program into your garage door opener.
