I'M TRYING TO REPLACE HARD
Hi I do NOT think that this adapter will/would work, you see even though one may think it should, this unit actually requires a native drive, not an adapter, you need to remove the adapter and use a drive that direct connects then it will work. It is really that simple.
Usually one Formats, on a PC via a USB dongle etc, and gets the HDD all ready to install, then, one plugs it into the interface and power, and then the unit should "See" the new HDD and perform it's "Housekeeping duties" on it, and make it available for use. Alternatively, one can simply hook it up, direct, and then the device should again "See" it, and the device will/should then Format it itself, and make it ready to use, the reason we may do in on a PC, is sometimes this is where there may be problems, formatting etc, that will not happen if done on a PC first. If done on a PC, ensure you format the correct format, usually FAT32, but not always.
There are a few tutorials online, perhaps it may pay to have a look for one, and follow it to the letter, to get the best result.
