If memory serves me correct, most of the GE/Truvision etc. DVRs have to be sent back in for the password to be defaulted. I may be incorrect on this, will double check.

I have strongly recommended that change your power supply with the same specification voltage and amp. I have installed so many GE DVR's most of DVR's restart when the power supply is not working properly or HDD have bad sectors. I also recommend use the scan disk on you HDD for proper checking of your HDD.

Hi I do NOT think that this adapter will/would work, you see even though one may think it should, this unit actually requires a native drive, not an adapter, you need to remove the adapter and use a drive that direct connects then it will work. It is really that simple.
Usually one Formats, on a PC via a USB dongle etc, and gets the HDD all ready to install, then, one plugs it into the interface and power, and then the unit should "See" the new HDD and perform it's "Housekeeping duties" on it, and make it available for use. Alternatively, one can simply hook it up, direct, and then the device should again "See" it, and the device will/should then Format it itself, and make it ready to use, the reason we may do in on a PC, is sometimes this is where there may be problems, formatting etc, that will not happen if done on a PC first. If done on a PC, ensure you format the correct format, usually FAT32, but not always.
There are a few tutorials online, perhaps it may pay to have a look for one, and follow it to the letter, to get the best result.

I would switch monitors and see if the problem still exists. Sounds like the monitor not the Dvmre.

pressing the corresponding number button will bring that camera up full screen. the buttons surrounding the A - B output source button will change the way your cameras are multiplexed on your monitor. you can also change which picture displays in each box including multiples of 1 camera by pressing the enter button on lower right and using the jog wheels to move (inside wheel controls up and down- outside wheel does left and right) the highlighted number where you want to put the cameras image. press the associated camera number you want there and it appears. press enter to lock the screen.

The factory default code to reset the system is 8111, however this will reset all program functions back to the factory settings, with the exception of the time and date. The default Operator code to use the system is enter, enter, enter, enter. This should allow you to operate the system.
