Remington Polesaw Wizard - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
What type of oil I use
The
Remington manual for model 111409-01 states: "This Pole Saw requires
lubrication only to prevent rust on the guide bar and saw chain. The
saw chain provided is pre-lubricated at the factory. With each use of
the Pole Saw apply a small amount of lubricating oil directly to the
saw chain (see Figure 8). The oil will distribute itself around the
chain and guide bar groove during use?preventing rust. We recommend
using SAE #30 motor oil for lubrication and rust prevention."

Broken oil reservoer cap, how do i get a replacement?
Are you aware they are no longer in production?
Find it here (probably "NLA" or "Back Ordered"):
Over the years the size of the cap has changed. There is only one cap available and replacement tanks to fit the current are NLA everywhere. I suggest you talk to a living breathing human on this, it may save a headache later.

Chain saw electric #097567-0 I want a chain for a
Hi delgadojoser,
Copy and paste this entire web address into your browser and the page with a choice of chains for your pole saw will open up: http://www.discountonlineparts.com/chainsaws/search.php?saw_mf=31&saw_mdl=106890-02&saw_l=10&saw_p=&saw_g=
The 1st one is the low profile chain which is the standard chain.
Hope this helps. If it does, I'd appreciate your vote.
Thanks,
Handie Andie

How many running watts will the saw take, I am
The largest remington pole saw is an 8 amp model which would take about 900 W on a 110 v supply.
The 6 inch model takes 6 amps wich would be about 700 watt.
It's probably best to oversize your generator to about 2kva then you can use it to power lights and other power tools etc

Hi how hard is it to skharpen a chain saw chain?
Hi,
It is easy to touch one up but if you really knocked the teeth out of wack then you will need to get it sharpened by some one with a machine that grinds the teeth.
To just touch up the teeth a round file and be used but the angle of the file is pretty critical. Also you need to make sure both sides are sharpened evenly or you will be cutting in circles... :-)
It does take some practice, but it can be mastered after some experimentation...
It is worth it if you are cutting in the woods and you catch a rock by mistake and you need to get more cutting done...
Have fun!!
