Fellowes DM15C Shredder Questions & Answers
Where is the sensor on a royal shredder
I have a Royal 100x and it does not use an IR sensor like other shredders. Mine uses a mechanical sensor and it sticks in the on position. It seems like the plastic that pushes on the metal switch contacts, hangs on the edge of the metal. I am seeing if I can modify the contact somehow so it will slide off of it but no luck yet.
Power switch will not turn on
If it is just a matter of the power switch, that is an easy part to replace. It might also be that one of the leads to the switch has come loose (some shredders just use the slip-on connectors) and needs to be put back on. Also, if the wires are attached to the switch, have you tried touching the wires from the switch and seeing if the shredder will work then. You can use a short piece of insulated wire to act as a jumper cable to touch the two wires going to the switch. If this doesn't allow the shredder to operate (you need to have something pressing down on the safety switch), then you need a new shredder.

There is probably a collection of shredded pieces that accumulated above the shredder teeth. You have to flip the head over and take out the 8 screws that hold the top cover to the bottom of the head. Carefully use a vacuum to clean out the confetti and reassemble. Note: the switch, cord and an internal printed circuit board in attached to the top cover so be gentile when you take it off. I have fixed several of this model this way. Apparently it is a defect in design to allow all this debris to accumulate inside the head. Good luck.
PS026/B2 Won't turn on.
It is designed not to turn on if the bag is full or if the door is ajar. If this is not the problem unplug it for 1 minute then plug it back in and it should work.
Let me know if this works and has helped and if I can assist you with anything else.
Thanks
Broken off DB-0812D mini-transformer from PS 67Cs
Purchase a 220/240 volt to 15.6/15.6 volt transformer and run flying wires as it will probably be larger in physical size.I used a M7230 from Aztronics/Altronics.Silicon the transformer in place to stop it falling apart while in its place.
It only runs part of a sheet then it stops &
Most likely the shredder is overheating and/or jammed. You have 2 options: 1) wait--do not attempt to shred anything else for about 15 minutes--and then try again; or 2) unplug the shredder, pull the bucket off, and attempt to dislodge some of the shaving yourself from the teeth. This is potentially dangerous, so you might want to wear some heavy duty gloves and use a pliers to extract the shredded material.
Shredder runs on after shredding. Cannot find the
hi the sensor is in the top..if you look in the gap where you put the paper, you should see a leaver in the middle somewhere, this is the turn on switch for the cutters, it may be stuck down...hope this helps
Only shredds part of 1 sheet then it stops. You
the reason it turns off is the motor and the shredder it drives are overheating, this means the shredder wheels are damaged and putting a huge load on the electric motor that drives the wheels that shreds the paper, the most cost effective thing to do here is to just replace the shredder.
No longer shreds. Probably overloaded. Looking
The punching holes/not shredding problem is caused by a collar that encapsulates the cutter shaft ends. Vibration causes the collar to fall off and the shafts to spread apart. The fix is to pull the paper bin out, remove the 5 screws holding the top assy., and pull off the top. You'll see the collar and the screws will be somewhere in the paper. Replace the collar and tighten all the screws at each end of the shredder assy.
Fellowes c-220c always full
there is usually a flap that leans into the paper tray and when it gets full the shreds push on this flap and activate a switch...
look for the flap and see if it bent or came off it's hinges.
It keeps stoping and getting papers hug up in it
I suspect you may have shredded some papers with glue on them. There are many that have that really snot looking glue used to hold cards to the paper. This gets stuck between the blades. There are several brands of cleaning papers designed to help clean the blades and reduce this problem. They are available at any office products stores and many big-box stores.
